Very similar but theres some different tricks to these instruments for sure. If you can play round neck slide though you can probably play lap steel/dobro.
Think the dude has a relay loop system, and not actually playing everything at the same time. Simply look at his right hand, visually not seeing any "boom-chick" fingerstyle pucking in the background to his lead slide playing.
This was one of my moms' very favorite songs...so much so that she requested that it be played at her funeral. We did so and sent her lovingly on her way.
My god this has got to be the best sounding instrument I've heard in a while. I'm not a country fan at all but I respect all music and I know beautiful when I hear it.
I used to play this guitar four years ago.... Thinking of resuming it once again. I miss it. Such a lovely melody it creates and every goddamn song on earth can be played on this particular guitar
Fabulous instrumental version of one of my favorite songs. Utterly gorgeous, well executed, and a sheer joy to listen to. Thank you for playing it and for posting your video.
Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin' That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads Take me home, country roads Take me home, country roads
I always wondered and was amazed how you can write something so beautiful. But John did! Just amazing!! RIP John.. I grew up with you and can’t wait to meet you in Gods presents.
He didn't write it alone, but did contribute. Bill Danoff and his wife, Taffy Nivert were the main authors of the song and it took them several months to get a final draft. Denver heard that draft and the three of them spent an entire night changing around the lyrics. Considering Country Roads is rooted in feelings of nostalgia, its actually pretty amazing they were able to condense those complex emotions and memories into a simple song.
This is so nice..lovely song, lovely place . .I see why my son fell in love with it...Pure hearts love & appreciate great music & the simple life...Golden💛
That is some serious skills . . . There wouldn't be any real country music without steel guitars . . . This is some beautiful and skilled playing . . . I love it .
Ohhhh.... thank you so much. there are no words that come to mind to describe the feelings that fill my soul when I listen to your version. to me, that was how the song was suppose to be played. I even think John Denver might agree Thank you so, so much.
That was awesome. Perfect slide technique being used. I know how much effort goes in developing such style as I also play Indian Slide Guitar. Great work 🎶🎶. Keep posting like this 👍👍
This post is immeasurably helpful to me, and I am grateful. Why? I'm learning lap steel and just hate to use finger picks. Your playing validates the fact that beautiful lap playing can be achieved with bare fingers. Thank you for the great performance!
It always amazes me how music unlocks the memory of what happened years ago when you were young. I hear a song and it immediately takes me back to what I was doing when I first heard it,brilliant.
WOW Esa canción me encanta. He escuchado varias interpretaciones de ella. Pero esta interpretación es la más linda que he escuchado de esa canción. Debe ser que la tocas con el corazón. Felicidades amigo! Eres un gran artista!
