I thought I couldn't accompany myself because I haven't learnt to sing over chords. I needed the melody but I just realised I can sing along with Brenda. She provides the melody guide! I think I'm going to have great fun with this video and I so want to sound a bit country. 🙂 Maybe if I keep singing along with Brenda's voice I'll get the knack for singing over chords on my own.
Thank you for sharing this in the key of "C". This style of accompaniment is new to me and it was so much easier to grasp the concept without sharps and flats. 🎹 However, now that I understand and have gotten more fluid, you have given me the tools to tackle this song in the original key that has the dreaded black keys. LOL 😂 Lo❤e your teaching approach. Subscribed
Really enjoy you tutorials you have beautiful diction in your voice ,I am find people of the USA have a. ,Well they really use all of the English language better than the English, I live in Australia was born in northern England , just sayin
Hi there. Just found your channel and I very much like your teaching method. Your voice is fab too🙂 Would love to see you do a tutorial video for Barry Manilows Mandy and/or maybe Prince's Purple Rain

Hi Brenda, Knut From Norway. Thanks for a excellent lesson from Country Road by John Denver, I Have not any singing voice, and wonder if you have a video on how to play and record the melody first with your right hand with saxophone or some instrument like that and playback the melody when I practice the chords. I Just bought a Yamaha dgx670 piano. Thanks in advance
What a great find your channel is. I love learning these songs in between practicing for my grade 5 piano. A 56 years it sometimes feels like a long haul. Can I request Alicia Keys - ‘Fallin’’ (2001). The Versatile Musician is definitely something I’ll consider once I’ve passed my grade 5. Brenda thanks so much for taking the time to post these videos.
We like this video! You asked if anyone knew any other songs this style would apply to: I think the song Behind Closed Doors, by Charlie Rich would work with this one! Thanks again for sharing your talent! Sincerely, Phil & Diane
I had a real epiphany watching your video. I have played the guitar much longer than I have played the piano. I have always wondered how to strum the piano like a guitar. It dawned on me that your accompaniment ,precisely sounds , 😅like a guitar, being strummed. Thanks for the epiphany.
When you say _"Sing and Play John Denver"_ but sing/play it in a totally different key than John Denver did, it would be helpful to the student if you pointed that out.
Why not just say thank you instead? I made an awesome tutorial that you got access to for free. You can do it in any key you like. Why not spread a little positivity instead?
@@PianoandVoicewithBrenda because I’m not thankful. I just go through all this stuff when I have nothing else to do. Can’t you just answer a legitimate question!?! Don’t be so touchy 🤷♂️🤪 As for being free. Don’t do it then if you feel like that about it. Also, there are dozens on these threads touting for business like you and wanting people to buy their subscriptions. You’re just one of many. Nate Terepta does it as well and provides free chord charts. He also does it in the original key. You’ve a lot of competition I suggest you keep the smart remarks to yourself 🤷♂️
@@barryhunt8527 Wow barry. I don't think anyone in the whole world thought SHE was making smart comments.😂 You on the other hand.... Well bless your heart ❤️
