Thanks mate. the video is just the theory, airlines can choose different heights, and also noise abatement procedures can change also :)

I thought that the first segment was the one from vlof to screen height 🤔 based on phak.
@PilotEd
@PilotEd 6 лет назад
pretty sure what i put on the board is right! may be called otherwise, dont know what phak is sorry
@komisanchiefcommander
@komisanchiefcommander 6 лет назад
PilotEd sorry, phak stands for pilot handbook for aeronautical knowledge, issurd by faa. You can see in it at chapter 10. Cmiiw
@PilotEd
@PilotEd 6 лет назад
its possible the FAA consider the sections differently i dont know? ive had a google and indeed there are some different versions, acceleration and clim out are all the same though, just depends where you take the start from. In all the examples i found where the segment starts at Vlof it also states the gear is retracted at the same spot! to me those two point are different. You dont retract the gear as soon as the wheels leave the ground! lol but the basis are all the same :)
@komisanchiefcommander
@komisanchiefcommander 6 лет назад
Im not an airline pilot yet, but as far 25. 111 said that yeah, landing gear retraction can be initiate once the aircraft become airborne, but they're not specific on what altitude. Can i have a book that you used for reference in this video? I would pleased to know that
@PilotEd

Hi, can you tell me which is the most critical segment among 4 of them ? thanks
@PilotEd
@PilotEd 5 лет назад
If your talking about having an engine failure, in my mind the lower I am the worse off. Unless I have runway remmaning to land. Many factors to take into acount.
