I loved Marsha Hunt. She died just a few weeks shy of her 105th birthday. As of today (7/24) she was the oldest living actress whose age was not challenged.
Severe headaches get a pass. Sometimes the screen glare makes them worse. Remember to drink a lot of water. It helps. So does a dark, quiet room, and a cool pack or cloth on the forehead.
Love William Powell movies! He was always great in any movie. Never cared for Shelly Winters much, but she was great in this and very beautiful!! Nice to see Marsha Hunt, too! Also, very good actress.
Old movies always make me feel safe and comfortable and cozy. I like to snuggle down in soft bedding and forget the crazy insanity of today’s Woke Marxist/Communist world.
I'd rather be woke than sleepwalking with the sheep. Caring about your community isn't communism and caring about society isn't socialism. The lack of empathy, the hate breeding, and number of Americans supporting Putin over democracy and the American way, under the spell of the MAGA cult, Con of the Republic and their authoritarian way, is overwhelming to watch our fellow citizens lose their grace to. Stop the ugliness. Leave the hate behind. Dump Trump and join the lighter side of life. We accept everyone. We are a big tent. One Human Family.
THUMBS DOWN! What is it with you characters spoiling the ending of films by covering half the screen with promos for other films?! It disrespects the audience and the film. You can't wait another few seconds for that? You jokers have pulled this one too many times. I'm done.

1:31:35 Another typo on the cornerstone. Last Latin word should read "praevalebit" not pralvalet. Truth is mighty and will prevail. Sheesh, not much of a professor is William Powell.
Por que cobrir um ultimo plano do filme com a propaganda dos proximos evitando assim que vejamos Slelley Winters como a doadora do dinheiro para fundar a nova universidade? Facam as coisas direito, por favor!
Amazing how narrow was Winter`s range of characters regardless of looks or age- almost always the self-pitying nagging or small time conniving, bit -not too much to alter the core drabness- quirkiness. No wonder she played it convincingly
AFTER SO MANY I FINALLY SAW THE ENDING OF THIS MOVIE, SHELLY WINTERS, WAS PRETTY GOOD ACTRESS. SHE ALSO STAR WITH MONTGOMERY CLIFF AND ELIZABETH TAYLOR! ANDTHEN LATER ON IN THE LATE 60'S OR EARLY 70'S IN THE POSADEN ADVANGER. SHE HAD TO GAIN WIEGHT ²FOR THAT MOVIE !
Shelly Winters had 2 Oscars proving she was great. She was in the original film, "Alfie" with Michael Caine. She was great with Robert Mitchum in the Charles Laughton directed film, "The Night of the Winter." She also worked with John Garfield, Burt Lancaster, Vittorio Gassman, etc. She was Marilyn Monroe's roommate; both attended the Actor's Studio in NYC.
@TheCornhusker They shared time together awhile back, he moved on and matured and she married the wrong man and turned into a self pitying PITA. He didn't want any part of her antics and let her stumble away into the night wearing his scarf. His girlfriend helps him figure shit out. And he gets bit by a dog. 😂 Nothing hard about it.
Did I miss something they must have chopped it off how the hell is that woman alive. He discovers the woman that he is supposed to have murdered perfectly alive
@@barbarapoulden9235 You're right. But people should know that a big star like Shelley wasn't going to be bumped off after just a few minutes of screen time.
S. Winters was a great actress. Unfortunately, she was relegated to playing the same shrill character in most movies. This is a well-crafted cautionary tale how a selfish, unbalanced, hedonistic female almost causes the destruction of a descent man. Ought to be mandatory viewing for highschool boys. 😉👍
I don’t think she was one of the top tier actresses. She was more like those models who did some movies, and she seemed to only have one style of acting, which was the whiny or drunk and pathetic supporting character.
@@owencrater7089 IDK what you're talking about. I've always used ad blockers, and I don't see the ads. I feel the way you do. If there were ads, I wouldn't bother watching.
Oh my goodness. 🙄 You know all you have to do is click on the "skip" tab that appears at the bottom right of the screen during a commercial and it goes right back to the movie? You don't have to watch any of the commercials, at all!
@@user-tc4jx5uo9w Anna, these are titled “English” to denote the language used (as you noted). A lot of people use English language movies to learn English, because RU-vid is available worldwide. The OP is confused, because they expected it to be a British movie.
Why do you describe American films as English? It's most annoying and time wasting. If you call them American I'm sure those that know who America is will realise they will be in the English language.
It’s to denote language. Many people watch these to learn how to speak (or improve their) English. They look specifically for movies labeled as “English”. Films made in England are also labeled as “English”.
Shelly winters was beautiful in those days. Before she descovered that box of cookies. You know. I know why they wanted everyone to stop drinking. So they could sell psychotropic drugs instead of the enjoyment of getting drunk
The obsessive lunacy of the New Right in one comment. Avoid said Cindy. Movie typical for era and budget....not worthy of comment. Skimming. interdisciplinarian....of note here only, scummings and lemmings. Note how content free such mediocrities draws....they like, they don't, aregrateful, annoyed. Their FEELINGS. Don Jr and Lara level pseudo mentalities. Sheldon Leonard, James Gleason...!
They could have done better with this movie. If you have rabies you dont walk around that long. So i was not suprise that at the end the story seemed to be not true.
