I saw your web page on jazz chord progressions, which was the easiest and simplest way of explaining them I have found so far. And that led me here. I think I'll just learn this bit by bit and see how long it takes me to play it up to tempo..... Thanks, dude!

So you hybrid pick most of this? Do you use your pinky on the four note chords?

Hey dude. I love the sound of the arrangement. But I gotta ask (keep in mind that I'm just starting in Jazz) : In my real book the ending of section A goes like 1. C6 | Dm7 G7 and 2. C6| Gm7 C7. Why did you go for 1. Eb7#9 D7#9 Db6/9 and 2. C C9sus4 C7b9. And why does that work? Mind helping a fella out with some theory lmao.

Thanks Raf! What happens there is called chord substitution. Db6/9 is a chromatic approach to C6. D7#9 is similar to Dm7, but the dominant version (in tunes like this you can make a lot of chords dominant). Eb7#9 is the tritone substitution (www.jazzguitar.be/blog/tritone-substitution/) of A7, the V of Dm7. The C9sus4 is a Bb with C in the bass (Bb has three common notes with Gm7). Sounds complicated when I explain it like this, but once you start playing more jazz tunes you'll recognize stuff like this as part of the jazz language.

sloppy production: tabs don't match what he's playing. first two chords are c6 (10,12,10,12) and d9#11 (4,5,5,4)

Hi Warren, which notation are you looking at? 10,12,10,12 and 4,5,5,4 is exactly the same as the tabs...
