I’ve always been skeptical of the dream weaver depth chart they provide. You also mentioned the depth varies depending if pulling a spoon or FF. Any chance dream weaver could use this system to create a chart with more speeds and spoons/FF? Thanks for all the info you post!

Hey Chris just a heads up we crushed up there last 2 days fishing Manistee. Watch you a lot. Anyways if you get chance run a stinger yellow tuxedo. Holy crap . Could not keep fish off it . I usually just run moonshine or dreamweaver but this thing crushed. Good luck . Tight lines

I have a statement and than a question maybe you can help me with...first, I've been salmon fishing since 1984....I hooked into a fish tonight that just ran and ran I thought it would spool me so I tightened the drag....pop...line breaks...I use 25 lb line....caught many fish 20-25lbs...guessing that one was close to 30lbs.....rehooked and not 15 minutes later another king spooled me on same rod and because I didn't want to over tighten drag again...I put my finger on spool and prayed it would stop it...luckily it did...caught 25 lb. My question is if 25lb fish are spooling me with 25lb line...how would I ever catch a 30lb plus fish?

It boils down to angler experience and, more importantly, good drags. 20 pound test gains breaking strength with a good drag system that can give just enough without breaking your line. I don’t know what reels you have but I recommend sending them to Mascot Reel Service in Ludington for a drag upgrade. It’s cheap and effective.

Another cool device sullied by a high price tag, just like Livescope. Hope they can get the price down eventually. Would hate to loose one of those probes from a broken line. 😮

To be clear, I understand the current price point give it's still in active development and has low economies of scale currently. Engineers need to eat too.

The plus side would be that it'd probably get cheaper and make it a reasonable cost. I expect we'll see cheaper competitors eventually regardless.

I switched last year to Scotty down rigger line and still had 12 lb balls fish catch dropped this year I went to 15 lb balls and increased catch 90 % maybe that could be some information to other people if you think it makes sense or a difference
