I think what would make it somewhat fairer is if whatever said performer from TNA was getting paid, half of it should be TNA, and half of it should be WWE.
This is JR9's NXT Round up for Great American Bash Week 2 which had a very unexpected heel turn. Positives: Tatum & Kelani had probably best actual match of night. Both delivered well Tatum especially but Kelani did well selling an injury in the match. Tatum was definitely the fan favourite which was interesting but ultimately lost via a frog splash from Kelani allowing her to retain the title. Post match Wendy Choo appeared & gave Tatum her Kelani doll before Wendy suddenly attacked Tatum & stared at Kelani. Seemingly suggesting Wendy is coming for Kelani & we'll probably get a Tatum vs Wendy Match & possibly longer story soon. Don't think Wendy will be No Mercy match as backstage Fallon, Jacy & Jazmyn were shown watching the match so I expect 1 of them to get the shot around No Mercy. Obviously would prefer it to be Jacy with her winning title but it likely will just be Fallon with Kelani retaining. Regardless of that enjoyed the match between Kelani & Tatum both put on a show. Ethan Page retained vs Oro Mensah in what a good TV title defense. Definitely wasn't the biggest fan of the build but felt the match did a good job of spotlighting Mensah in particular. Easily his best performance on NXT in a long time. Page retaining obviously correct call as we head towards No Mercy. Both benefitted from the match & that's the way it should be. Joe Hendry was up next getting another fantastic reaction as he defeated Joe Coffey via his Standing Ovation Finisher. Crowd as always were really into the match, Hendry just brings the show to life when he's on screen & his work is really strong. He did the classic Eddie Guerrero chair spot to get rid of Gallus but instead of falling to the floor he jumped onto the announce table which was pretty funny. Post match Hendry said he'll wants to stay for longer & next week we won't have to say his name as he will appear. Now the only 2 talents that got post match interviews were Page & Hendry so it has got me thinking No Mercy title match could be Ethan Page vs Joe Hendry & next week will start the build. If so can't wait as that match will be really enjoyable & so should the build based off their promo ability alone. Main Event saw Axiom & Frazer retain over MSK in a decent match but thought it could be better as was nowhere near as good as expected however post match is what made the whole thing a positive. As we all thought heading in that MSK would win leading to Frazer turning in Axiom based off teases of tension recently, glad it didn't happen yet though as Axiom/Frazer are so good together. Regardless back to this instead we got an actual shocking heel turn as Wes Lee attacked his Rascalz brothers 1st Trey with a Superkick & then low blowed Zach. Wes followed up by putting Trey through the barricade & hit a devasting running meteora knee to Zach who was up against the steps on the outside. Everyone played their role really well here & this change for Wes has been a long time coming. His act had kinda become stale as face & very intrigued to see how he does as heel, since we've never seen it. Again his face promos were sometimes rough but hopefully this run will help him find some well amplification with his promos. Do like the story here as Zach's release in 2022 will be a focal as Wes was shouting at him "you left me alone". So Wes has motivation behind the turn & that's great. This is an example of how a turn should be done & also how you end a TV show with a cliffhanger. Next week will be a great indicator of how Wes will do but I say let him rock & hopefully he delivers in the role. Last thing on Wes do think Je'von Evans being the next big face also is why a heel turn is necessary as both have similar styles so changing one up definitely makes sense. Plus Je'von vs Heel Wes could be a really good program if done properly down the line. Negatives: Trick lost to Pete Dunne to start the night after hitting his knee of exposed Turnbuckle into Bitter End. Now the match was obviously wrestled well however the actual booking is pretty poor. Trick just had the NXT title at Heatwave so having him lose a pointless match to Dunne who turned Heel with no build up & isn't a NXT talent feels wrong. Trick did attack Dunne backstage later in night so no doubt Trick will beat him in the 2nd match but at point it'll just be 50/50 booking. Simply a poor way to begin the show. We then cut to the 1st of many cringe backstage segments as Hank & Tank held a barbecue backstage. The segments were just your typical WWE forced comedy with eating contests to talents going through a table all just to squeeze as many people on screen at once. Simply garbage stuff & is a reason why many would tune out from the show. WWE need to stop this kind of stuff on their programming very VKM esque. Wren Sinclair then beat Kendal Gray in a short match a victory which confirmed Wren as a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew & Dempsey gets a Heritage cup match next week vs Tony D. Now I hate a lot of this like the match itself was fine a showcase for Wren but everything else about it wasn't good. Don't get why Wren even wanted in the group as No Quarter catch crew haven't actually got a good track record with wins. I would get it if they were a dominant group but they just aren't very odd. Plus Tony D is still stuck facing them I've had enough of it now. Been going on for months & just can't escape it it's really damaging Tony D as his character isn't progressing at all if anything he's going backwards & the segments like at the restaurant aren't happening anymore which sucks since it was the best part of the act. Regardless Dempsey vs Tony again is a snoozefest & can't imagine anyone wants to see it. Ridge Holland then revealed that he & Andre Chase have a tag title shot next week, it makes no sense as they haven't earned one at all. Chase U literally lost at Heatwave to Axiom & Frazer in what was a great match but it's exactly why they shouldn't be getting one now. Chase U haven't even had a tag match since & Ridge has never teamed with Andre on TV everything about is just nonsensical & random. Overall: A more consistent show than last weeks. Had some good matches & actual developments after them, the Wes Lee turn was definitely the best thing on the show, so glad a NXT show finally ended on a cliffhanger as it has been a while since they got one Ethan Page's debut was probably the last one. Again still some flaws mainly with Trick & Tony D but was for sure happy with this week's show, probably a 7.5/10
Honestly, if TK was smart, he would hire Shane, make him his #2, and then they could do a true INVASION angle. A new version of the NWO! Even if it's not done the best. It will get 👀 on AEW
Wouldn't say TNA are being taken advantage of as they've only sent Grace, Rascalz & Hendry. WWE have sent some talents like Gallus, Wes Lee, Issi & Tatum Paxley over to them. Rok-C maybe should've been on TNA to hype Grace match though but was just unfortunate that TNA tape their shows in advance. If even more TNA talents show up in the future with WWE not giving them any of the bigger NXT names then it's 100% a bad partnership for TNA.
Sammy Guevara and the lucha bros hinting on coming to wwe would be insane but depends if they can utilize and treated which I know Sammy will but the LB’s not really that is if they can be put on NXT. I once said Joe hendry should definitely do business with wwe I didn’t think it would already happen too soon while he’s still under contract with TNA because he said that it was his mission to be a TNA knockout champion and face John Cena for that title so maybe it could still be a possibility for wwe instead on TNA🤷🏾♂️.
WWE is practically robbing all of the best TNA talent at this point 😂😂😂 if WWE can grab Joe Hendry and make him a permanent NXT talent than they could practically grab anyone if need be ♨️♨️♨️ and it's working!!!
If Lucha Bros are heading to WWE honestly NXT is probably there best bet as the tag wrestling is better than on the MR. HHH would definitely just shove them into the LWO or something. Going to NXT is really the only way they may get some form of success. Again not convinced they fit in WWE at all though.
I’m so glad La knight finally became the new us champion so that way he can bring more prestigious to it just like how John Cena did by making it relevant than how Logan Paul did cause his was like Roman reigns level than showing up on a weekly basis😂
Definitely smart to send Punk for the 1st on the road show in Chicago will help with ticket sales & kick-start with a good rating. Smart business for sure & Punk is around NXT a lot anyways backstage so makes sense.
As much as I like undertaker, I'll have to disagree with him because when Logan Paul was the us champion, he only defended the title successfully twice so he wasn't that good of a champion, when Cena was the US champion, I feel like he made the title feel perhaps the most relevant title when he held it.
taker is a stong beliver in Christ and to me it is dead obvious (pun intendted) that Undertaker has nothing but the Love of Christ to show to everyone. not a bad word and really high levels of respect given to any man in this business. Thats Taker showing the Love of YAHWEH. Taker is just a loving nice man supporting his wwe family. comes off cringe at times but Taker is showing all love and encouragement to his family. these words said by the undertaker will motivate Logan Paul encourage him enforce his confidence and make him even better in this great sport. thats what taker is doing wwe is hiss family he treats them as such. I wouldn't watch AEW because of Cody's attitude right before it started on TV so me being a petty bitch said, "here's to yeah "🖕🏻🖕🏻". I started watching a couple weeks ago to see Mercedes wrestle and my dream match is coming up at All In at Wembley in The UK. DR Brit Baker DMD VS the Queen of the Wrestling World Mercedes Moné. AND if Shane is gonna be on TV I'm there 💯
