Facts This heffa mistakenly charged a cheaper price went home and thought about damn I F’d up I should have charged more money because they’re 7 people. But because she signed that contract it’s now a legal document she couldn’t go back and change the price so she decided to just skip out on the event all together

I am stuck on $245 for 7 people total and traveling almost three hours ONE WAY!!!! Bride needs her money back but she needs to know this wasn't even a professional rate. This should have been no less than 1k...period
This is why I STRESS to people DO NOT take on business ventures for the sake of saying, “I’m an entrepreneur” without learning the DEPTH of customer service and satisfying your customers in business. Shame on her but I’m also happy the judge soaked it to her and hopefully she’ll take the lesson and perfect herself and her brand better next time.
This is the problem with lots of these hairdressers and make up artists. They expect the client to be profession but they are not! To dump a bride three hours before the wedding is unacceptable! My relative had a hairdresser cancel her hair appointment the day before her wedding! She had to go to a hairdresser at 5am on her wedding day! She paid a grip!
@@mrshappilymarried1 I second this and unfortunately this is why I don’t. Sometimes these black owned and small businesses treat us like they’re doing us a favor. Some of them won’t open their business on time, won’t return calls/messages in a timely fashion or just plain rude. The MUA underpaid herself and probably didn’t want to drive 3 hours after realizing it, so she bailed. Spend the money and hire licensed AND professional people.

I feel bad for the bride...that's awful. But 7 people for under $300? A professional makeup artist, even one fresh out of beauty school, would charge at least 3x that. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
The defendant told on herself big time. She said she used her son's phone to call her phone to find it. BOOM!!! She had a phone to call the plaintiff!! She woke up late or decided she didn't charge enough for all those people. Either way, she's not professional
Exactly! She could've reached the bride or the hairdresser through Facebook, Twitter or IG, or any other social media platform; most people at least have one. I'm sure that the hair dresser has social media to show off her work. I found out las t night you can do video calls through IG.
I was waiting for someone else to bring this up, I thought I imagined it. She could have asked the person when she contacted them to have the phone to find the number and call and explain and tell her she is on her way. OR as someone else said found other ways to contact, like social media etc.
I appreciated how apologetic the defendant was during the segment with Doug. She felt bad. I hope she reimburses the plaintiff and her business thrives, as it seems she is a good makeup artist!

The MUA lowballed herself. I would never agree to get paid $250 for 7 people On top of needing to travel 2+ hours one way. That is easily $800 STARTING OFF. The MUA decided it wasn’t worth it and didn’t go so she absolutely needs to refund her. Next time, don’t undercharge yourself. I wouldn’t have gotten up for $250 either 🤷🏾♀️ now, $800-$1000 on the other hand… I’ll be there early 😂
He always looks SO disappointed on the rare occasions when the defendant says that he or she is happy how things came out and that the ruling was fair to the plaintiff.

I see a lot of comments about her fee being low. She agreed to it and her dissatisfaction with her own lowball fee certainly doesn’t excuse ghosting a bride. I think the defendant was actually more remorseful than is hardly ever seen on People's Court. Most people who are dressed down that severely by the judge are waaaay more defensive than that.
Props to the defendant for not giving attitude in the hallway with Doug. I was ready to roast her but I think the judge did a good enough job of that. She said she didn't mean to ruin her wedding day and showed some remorse . At the end with Doug.
I already knew how this case was going to go when the narrator was giving us a summary 😭😭. She was supposed to get a ride with the hairstylist so the “travelers fee” is BS. I wouldn’t have hired her after the bachelorette party. So unprofessional. Girl forget the phone!! I have never heard of such unprofessionalism. A cell phone excuse? The Judge does such a phenomenal job at exposing the wrongs done by the litigants.,whether it’s the plaintiff or the defendant. I love it!
Absolutely true....my cousin and his wife got married at the Churchs Chicken in Maywood Illinois USA....They got married in 2005 and still are married today in 2021........

Always charge your worth! I used to lowball myself bc I was afraid they wouldn’t want to work with me if I charged more, or didn’t realize I *should* be charging more. You end up subconsciously resenting the clients or not doing your absolute best when you should only be mad at yourself. But you have to always follow through and do better for yourself for the next time. if it’s not in their budget then they need to find someone who is. Periodtttttt

I work in the wedding industry, and the worst thing a vendor can do is fail to show up on the wedding day. Sadly, there are countless individuals simply calling themselves wedding professionals (from make-up artists to florists to photographers to wedding planners) just because they have the ability to set up a pretty website and hand out business cards. A professional does not charge below the industry standard (because it devalues the profession), and $245 for photo-ready make-up on seven women is WAY below the industry standard. We tell every bride that a cut rate price is often the sign of an amateur or hobbyist. That was the case here. I feel awful for the bride in this case (and knew from the beginning that she'd recoup her money). The only thing she did wrong was trying to avoid paying for a real professional. You get what you pay for.

$250 for the full make-up of a bride, six bridesmaids and the mother of the groom? That's ridiculously cheap. She should have charged $200 for the bride, $100 for each bridesmaid and/or mothers of either the bride or the groom. That would cover the cost of her time, the travel expense, the cost of the products used, and any additional costs. Good cosmetics are expensive, and knowing what you're doing via the courses aren't cheap, and the years spent learning the craft, it all adds up.
@vanessa cacioppocunt many make up artists charge over 1k for a bridal party and Ik many that stay booked. If someone tells me that low of a price ($200 something for 7 faces) I wouldn’t trust it because cheap services are often exactly that quality wise CHEAP

Honestly, I’m looking at the bride sideways, too! Why would you agree to 1 person traveling 2 hours and doing 7+ faces for only $245. That’s beyond robbery! Any decent person should know that’s not even feasible, with supplies and travel expenses alone! She’s just as guilty...she was clearly taking advantage! That’s not even considerate...I would never allow someone that’s doing me a service like that travel 2 hours and do 7 bridesmaids + myself for less than $1000. I’m sorry but EVERYONE is wrong on this one!
Yeah no. No one in their right mind is going to turn down a deal like that. I don’t blame the bride at all. The MUA should know her worth. It’s her job to quote the right price. She low balled her worth. She can’t expect someone to say “oh no, that’s too low, let me pay you more”. No one is going to do that. Not even you. Hopefully they both learned something.
