My gen 2 was a workhorse. I picked up the gen 3 today and used it all day at work. The 2 was a great tool and milwaukee has made it better with this one. That tri light is a great improvement.
I still have the gen2. 3 years later it’s still kicking ass but my only complaint has been the light setup. I might switch to gen3 solely because of the tri light
As a plumber it was a pretty heated choice. I lost my gen 2 fuel m18 a while ago, and I still have the hammer drill from the combo pack. I ended up with this because of a multitude of reasons. Primary being I only use it for screws. Other reasons are that I carry an m12 dremel, an m12 band saw, and an m12 expansion tool. I have 3 m18 tools and 3 (aging) batteries, just couldn’t bring myself to pay 199/battery. Picked it up with a charger and battery for 99 and absolutely love it
A guy i work with has the m12 dremel. Im thinking whyyyy spend the money? Then we were replacing heating elements on this unnecessarily complex shrink tunnel (for packaging meat) and he busted it out to clean the threads up after a leak. I just said...oh THATS why 😂
@@kychristell1779 I do wish it had some more power, but it was a gift from my boss. Have managed to cut vacuum breakers off of hose bibs with it without marring the hose bib.
I just got this with a charger and 2ah battery with a bag for it all that my DeWalt angle attachment fits in one of the extra loops for $105 after tax. Used Afterpay so 3 $30 payments and one $14 payment every two weeks. It is brushless as well.
@@evanm.2300 I swapped to another impact driver. That seem to fix problem. Don’t underestimate those Ryobi bits. They are just as good as some of the better brands. I own a lot of Milwaukee bits, but often find myself using other brands. My go to are the Makita’s, but I am currently testing out the Spyder
@@ProxyFinal i havnt tried makita (gold or silver bits) in a long time but i cant remember being disappointed. I haven't tried spider yet. But millwakee were good but the Phillips bits were not the best fitting compared to dewalt snug almost tight fit which saved it from stipping and stessing for me. Plus they make the best magnet accessory to slide on the bit(makita is second place because its harder to find for me and is too tight of a fit sometimes)
You know what’s crazy, ryobi had the tri LED like 8 years ago, and everybody acting like Mllwauke the light champion lol I’m about to get the m12 or 18 but I just thought that was funny
Tell me about it lol same with the Hammer drill having the torque stop protection, Hilti has had that for a long time. The real king of light is the Hilti SID 6-22 with the ring light, but even that was started with Skill 12 volt if I stand correct
