When I watch ur videos my mind drifts back to 1980 something, my mom and dad are still alive and I'm in my attic bedroom working on a model tank. Thanks for the look back, Andy. Those were good days :)
Me too, only difference was it was a Testor’s Panzer IV kit with the awesome box photos (a 10-year-old boy couldn’t get it anywhere near the quality of the models on the box haha).
i guess im randomly asking but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Huxley Lian thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Woohoo! My b/f watches every video(me too😉). We have learned so much from you,Andy. Thankyou for your impeccable detail and knowledge.😁😁 We can't wait to start a nice build again,as we have moved recently. Your videos are absolutly something we look forward to.😁😁😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thankyou again. We hope you stay safe and healthy.
Love your review vids Andy. I see all the prep you do for these videos. Removing sprues from bags ect. I watched a review the other day it was 30+ minutes most of that was pulling sprues and cutting the bag open to get them out. So thank you.
Hello Andi. Please remember that the F2 has the shorter L/43 gun, the G has the longer L/48 gun ! That's another hugh different betwin them. Thanks for the review. Greetings from Cologne. Markus
Technically if they're both Ausf. G, all of the Panzer IVs produced initially with the KwK 40 were redesignated as Ausf. G. Same thing happened to the Panzer III Ausf. J with 5 cm L/60, those were redesignated Ausf. L.
Andy!!!! Your all ways a bright spot on the week!! When your videos come out!!! That's terrific Andy!!!! They are a lot of great panzer IV kits out there, but I am more of a Tiger Guy or panther .....but this review of this panzer IV , is so cool!! What value Andy! All the extras slide molding and metal barrel. I think I will have to get this Panzer IV!!! Really enjoyed your review Andy!!! Got to get that kit for my stash and build it up. Sherman's, Tigers, Panthers, ....Panzer IVs oh my !!!! Outstanding review of a great new kit!!!!! Thank you Andy!!!!!
This makes me want to build the F2 from Mid season 1 of Girls und Panzer. I built the AUSF. D version already from the old Tamiya kit, maybe I'll have to hit up the store for this one to do my next Panzer build.
Thanks Any, heck of a tough job you have, but you do it well. After watching this I trawled the U.K. model shops but could not find one yet. Looking forward to the build.
I am really getting into tanks lately, always been a airplane person but i visited the only working Tiger tank in the world in England not long ago, loved it....but then at home today we had a Spitfire + Hurricane flyover for a 100 year olds birthday because he raised £30m plus for NHS....the raw of those engines above 🙌 i just dont know what i like more 😅 Planes or Tanks
Border has just been blowing my mind! Perfect, every kit I’ve dealt with. Quality all around, mold detail, price etc. it’s like a dragon/new takom without dragons crazy over engineering (which on many models I prefer)
Excellent review as always! I just wanted to let you know I ordered 2 kits from your online store and I’m very impressed by the customer service and speed of the delivery....my future purchases will be definitely coming your way
Maxwell Clark Yup. I seriously hate when people compare the tiger with the sherman to show how much better the american armored vehicles were when the Panzer IV and StuG was the sherman’s of germany and were equally as good!
I'll definitely buy one from you! I am currently building the Dragon LAH Kharkov IV and a LOT of the parts and features (and decals) look identical (in a good way) to that Dragon kit (6363). However, I love the track and hopefully the instructions on this Border one! The Dragon instructions are, well, Dragonesque!
A turret basket is internal and it refers to the structure that hangs from the turret which holds the floor that the turret crew stands on. Some tanks aren't equipped with floors hence, no turret basket. This is why I bring this up. The box behind the turret is a storage container.
The tank you toured is an F2. I am sure the G's were present in North Africa, but the F2 definitely was a nasty surprise there. That and the up-gunned model 3s.
Hi Andy. I loved the fact that you mentioned the full name Panzer 4 Ausfuehrung F2/G. Your pronounciation was spot on. It basically just means Version F2 / G.
Always nice to see a friendly face! 😉 I do love my Tigers and Panthers, but....I love the Panzer III and IV as well! Now, how about a review on the 1/200 USS Yorktown CV-5? 😉 I hope that all is well at your end of the trenches my friend! 🤗🍻
Hi Andy, thanks so much for the review and the museum photos as well. One point: the museum sign for the tank says "Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausfuerung G", and it has the muzzle brake of the G (not the round one of the F), but also the vision port at the side of the turret, which is supposed to be an F-only feature. What gives? Where there some Gs with the vision port, or some Fs with the G-type muzzle? Or the museum mixed up the parts for the reconstruction? Also, what do you think of the Sand color they used on the tank at the museum? Color balance in interior photos can be all over the place, so it's not safe to judge colors by the photos, but do you think you could guess the nearest RAL number that they used? It looks light greyish sand, close to say Sandgrau RAL 7027 in hue, but also quite light, so closer to Dunkelgelb Late 1944 RAL 7028 in brightness - but not in hue (which can't be right because of the dates). But I may be completely wrong. What do you think?
Surprised to see that the Mk4 in the museum in Germany is using the Swastika on the Afrika Corps emblem, I thought the symbol was banned over there. Another good video, breaks the monotony here in lockdown UK, stay safe out there in Arizona, all the best from Yorkshire, England
I have the previous release. The IV is really nice and much easier to build, but still has great details. They have forgot the pistol port on the G in the last kit, this might fix it then
Andy, have you heard anything about the release of the 1/1 scale tiger 2 shell? I think it was supposed to come out in April but may have been delayed because of the virus.
Hello everyone, i'm new to this beautiful hobby, i recently bought a kit and everything to build it (colours, glue, etc) Problem is that within 1-2 mins of doing anything like gluing, putting, washing, painting without wearing mask i get high, dizzy and i don't feel well. (the room is well ventilated) the only way i can work on my model is by wearing my 3M mask (7500 series with the A2 filters) Is that normal? Is this hobby that toxic? I have heard people don't even wear mask while they airbrushing acrylics. (p.s. I use tamiya acrylics, thinners, putty, cement) Some of your knowledge would help me a lot. Thanks
Hi Andy, Great Video as always. I'm hoping you can help me with a problem, I've been given an old 1/35 Matilda Tank by Tamiya which I want to resurrect with some TLC, but I need new tracks and I'm looking for rubber tracks like you get in the Tamiya Matilda British Army model. Do you sell these or know where I can get some, also in need of the decals for the British Army Version. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Tony.
Andy, forgive me for my ignorance but could you explain what the benefits of ' slide molding' are and what it is as a process. You mention it with enthusiasm with the better kits you review. Thank you. Curiously from Australia
I'm not sure on the exact process, but the main benefit i see is that it does away with seam lines from not having to glue two pieces together to make one.
Dude, the Russians already had KVs and T34 by the start of the invasion. granted the were not the bulk of the armored forces. On an other note today is Alien day (as in the Ridley Scott movie) so it would have been cool to show of some Alien related models. Maybe next year.
it seems like alot of the decals for German models lack the swastika symbols, it would make sense if it was a german company but how come so few have them
