Ironically enough, the watered down Marvel vs Capcom game for PS1 Is considered the best of the PS1 ports, because it introduced the mechanic of delayed hyper combos, let you play as the boss Onslaught, and gave Mega Man the Magnetic Shockwave hyper move after beating the game. The dream will never die. 🙂
@@Noot_OfficialTrue, but the fact that there was more added to compensate what was missing in this one as opposed to the others is nothing short of interesting. Especially the crazy zoom in effect when executing air combos.
This take tho, i grew up playing thw absolutel dog-shit oit of MvC1 on the PS1, i loved the loss of mental stack having the second character, and 3 round fights just feel normal to me
Great video but you forgot an important detail. Arcade 1 up put out arcade cabinets with these collections a couple years ago. They put out and while only the mvc2 cabinet has all the games their positive sales helps show capcom and marvel that there is a NEED for these collections on non cabinet hardware.
DC might have been in a better position that they probably weren't desperate as marvel to contact a Japanese company to make a game of their IP, DC had games made but clearly came from western game studios and i think after that it just remained stagnant specially when NRS got their hands on the DC IP leaving them satisfied with making something in response to MVC
0/10 didn't mention The Punisher started the Capcom & Marvel games relationship. Best Beat Em Up. Joking aside, MvCIs gameplay was great but unfortunate for other parts of it. Glad Max's Beyond project is sturing up positivity for that.
Something to remember is that at the time of Marvel vs capcom 3 Ike Perlmutter was still the ceo of the whole company and even Marvel employee's did'nt like the guy including Kevin Feige himself. Sadly he did not leave the company until sometime before Captain America Civil war released which means he was likely involved when Marvel Infinite was entering develpment too. Now things are much different, Pearlmugttter is gone and Feige's got complete control over everything Marvel, not only is he much easier to work with but the MCU could use some positivity right now regardless of how one feels about it right now. Capcom also has their priorites straightened out pretty good too, so the chance of a new Marvel vs capcom game is high especially after this remaster was announced. Though I will say fighting game fans better be greatful to Nintendo. Because the switch isn't as strong as the current systems it's able to use an old game engine, and we know that companies like to work with the less powerfull console first when making a game. Meaning that while yes it's coming to the other platforms the Switch is likely what gave them the confidence to attempt this remaster.
I don’t even know that I’ll play them so much but I like fighting games more and more lately so I’m buying all these rereleases in preparation for them not being available in a few years.
@@Noot_Official thanks for this 🔥 honestly I didn't support marvel because of the way they handled my favorite fighting game franchise, I didn't go see any of their movies...NONE OF EM! 😭🤣
I barely play fighting games. But Im still getting MVC Fighting Collection on Steam, just cos it looks cool. I know Im gonna be trash playing it but idgaf 😂
I was pissed that they didn’t put Daredevil, Luke Cage, Punisher & Iron Fist in MVCI… If they weren’t going to put in the X-Men , why couldn’t they put the Defenders 🤦♂️
Y’all think the success of Injustice and the FGC as a whole contributed to Disney Marvel’s collaboration along with their franchises suffering a regression in quality and praise? It feels their failure was needed for this (fighting collection) to happen. Just speculation of course.
With the release of the resident evil 4 remake there was a gold or deluxe edition with additional content being sold, it was like 70 or 80 bucks i forget, id assume it would come with thr additional dlc later but not, i had to rebuy it to get the dlc n i was furious, why not have the chance to upgrade why have so many "gold" versions
Can you do a documentary history of the Darkstalkers series (when you cover each game, please mention every character and their backstory) and other media related to the series (please reply)
Mvc infinite sucked because they let it become dbzf and it became some garbage. All they had to do was make it play just like 3(or2) with better graphics and moee characters instead. They ruin 2 franchise , neither game was worth playing... fighters is silly. They are all dbz characters and all have the same powers... how diverse could it really be? It wasnt, thats why it sucked. But ppl will buy a blank disk 1 million times over before they realise its a blank disc.
Infinite came out before fighterz and has great gameplay and brought back the 4 button scheme from 2 that 3 ditched while fighterz uses one closer to mvc3. Some people say mvci plays close to Tatsunoko vs capcom but i am not familar with it. Idk what you're talking about
@@Morrigan101 infinite is trash. Infinite is 2v2 While dbzf is basically mvc3. Infinite shouldve just kept the mvc3 controls and told dbz make a dbz game not a fake mvc. If You dont understand ,so why are u talkin? Your not educating me your proving my point. Fighters is a knock off mvc, and it sucks because dbz is not as diverse when it comes to powers. Mvc killed itself by making it unlike mvc2 or 3 2 pf the most beloved games of all time thats dumb.
@@esekay3648 mvc1, x-men vs street fighter and Marvel vs street fighter were all 2v2 too and they're beloved too. The problem with mvci was disney blocking characters that Fox owned the movie rights to and demanding a MCU realistic style when the game was originally gonna have a visual style closer to 3
@@Morrigan101 mvc 1 and capcom v xman where good for there time but got out classed by mvc2 and 3. Period. Besides this tatsunoko v capcom sucks. It was the biggest disappointment at that time. Just like mvci. If mvc2/3 wasnt goated dbz wouldnt have copied them. All marvel had to do was add new character to 3 essientially.
