Save another day by making sure the materials requirements are fulfilled before the 'expensive' people arrive on site. That savings is HUGE! If using a Project Management tool, make sure the full consumables are time managed and the suppliers commit to deliveries onsite (and the Project Manager ensures tolerances are included.) Brilliant work by the team, thinking on their feet. A saved day at the end of the build to use on another job. Sounds like revenue to me. You guys rock!

As you started the business, you've always been used to having to do everything yourself but as it sounds like you're now finding, once a business grows to a certain size it's impossible to still be over everything. You have a very capable and talented team who come across as eager and deserving of promotion so now's the time to further delegate so you can take a step back and focus on how to continue to grow and scale the business. All the best as you continue the Artisan journey.

Sadly (and also good), I know… As a business owner, you can “be there” for everyone without “doing everything” at the same time. It’s quite incredible how confidence, creativity and dynamic awareness grow with responsibility and a more “mentor” boss who is available - but not necessarily on top of every shoulder on the job. Trust goes in every direction… You’ve probably been there yourself at some point, when your boss finally let you fly solo, and even crash with minor damage. If that made your back-when boss feel better, you probably will too - time helps. Best of luck to everyone on the team! 👍

Well done. Learning to let go is key to long term growth. I believe in hiring people that are smarter and better than me so I don't have to do anything. When you hire others, you hire them to do a job, not for you to do their job.... I generally only intervene if there is a problem, or people are pushing to hard, risking burnout; or if there is some uncertainty I can resolve.

The hardest thing when it's your own business, or indeed when you first become team manager for the first time, is learning to delegate, building confidence in the new first mate, and the rest of the crew. I've been very lucky that the teams I have managed myself have all been top notch and very professional which made learning to manage on the job much easier - but the letting go bit is hard! Now you can focus on taking a well earned rest, and then think about whether you can start to build a second team and expand?

Dear Your Head Space - Let me as a Solar Survivor of 23 years tell you right Now the tennis court solar instillation was the very worst job you've done in your Life. $60,000 and only effective for 5 hours a day and you call yourself a Solar installer? I'm not surprised you're depressed - that was a customer who thought he was going to get 4 times what he's getting because of your instillation - - - If you're a Solar Installer and 1/3 of your panels are in Tree Shade for 1/4 of the day and you go ahead and do the job anyway it's no wonder you're having Head Problems bro - get out of the business get off you tube - you can't even tell when the sun rises and you're doing Solar instillation? get Up with what you're dealing with or get out of the business - Solar is Not Electrical ! It's Sun Power - now if you can't understand the difference stop pretending to know what you're doing and get off you tube as a way of making money out of a 13 years old girls Rants. Frankly you have made an error in your business and the error was based on the rantings of a 13 year old girl that should have been in science class instead of carbon burning aircraft. You built an electrical business on that climate fraud and tried youtube as a sales platform and you did it without observing the sun - the big bright hot thing that your business is based on - The Sun

Sorry mate, there is no stepping back, you are either in or you are out. My advice would be, stop making videos that are going to freak out your suppliers, keep your head down, take on a little less, plan an exist. Very hard to sell your company simply because the main asset is you and you are wanting out. Maybe if it’s that bad and tbh I can’t see how it can be ( I had 36 people working for me doing HVAC ) but if it is and you are financial I.e no debt, then just walkway.

Well that was a first step back to well being but I do wonder how high your stress levels were sitting in the office wondering if the guys are doing well is the job up to standard? You will only truly reduce the stress once you give up the foreman roll and can rely on each team leader to take on that responsibility.

Looks like a load of clowns, would not inspire me with confidence to have them do a job for me.

The title of this video is inappropriate and disappointing. It's misleading and trivialises mental health struggles. Please change it to something that doesn't clickbait mental health... like: "Letting my team step up"
