I have an 04 with 251k. Its a great car but needed a radiator,EGR valve and alternator within the last 5k miles. Things wear out eventually but I plan on keeping it til at least 300k.

The honda pilots from 2003-2005 were All All-wheel drive. You can see the VTM-4 Lock button around the 4:30 mark between the steering wheel and the radio. That locked it into 4wd. In 1st, 2nd, and reverse. It would automatically disengage above a certain speed and is only to be used if stuck. Later models 4wd was an option, but when it debuted it was standard. The primary differences between the MDX and the Pilot at this time were styling, ride comfort, and luxurious finishes inside. The MDX did however share the problem-prone Accord and Odyssey transmission of the time, and the Pilot had a separate unit.

The current Honda pilots still use the 3.5 V6 engine Chad! They are smooth powerful motors. The fact they have a timing belt and are interference engines can worry me. That is true with the transmission problems. You have to check if it has had a replacement.

Piece of shit I have an 04 pilot same color as this one actually lol. Has 180k miles had it for a year now and already had to replace the trans, sway bar links, valve adjustment which caused me a headache for 4 months trying to get the damn check engine light figured out, I will never ever buyba pilot again.
