I'm 11 and I have a few chicks in a coop my dad and I built. They enjoy it and feeding them boiled egg yolk actually works great! I find hat I does boost theirs energy and helps them grow bigger. Thank you for all the great tips!
Raider wolves Good for your Raider, I am sure you will enjoy them even more as they get older. Thank you for sharing your opinion on how chicks respond to egg yolk. I learned the same trick from my grandmother....:)
Raider wolves this is weird . really weird . I just turned 11 I built a coop with my dad and I got my chicks just yesterday.......I feed them egg yolk ( not boiled ) aswell
MaMa really knows how to cook and take care of you babies. I'm receiving my very first batch of backyard chicks tomorrow and i'll be using your videos to learn how i can make my babies as happy and healthy as yours
My 4 girls are around 8 to 10 days old. They are marvelous. Remember that when they start eating greens and grains they will need baby chick grit/oyster shell for their gizzards to help digest.
I like that you add in vitamins and healthy things for them....your son is so sweet...I think what you are teaching them is wonderful. Thank you for all the great tips.
You have earned a sub :3 I love this channel so much,it's all about the fluff and puff, and feeding and helping them and caring,OMG I CANT STOP TALKING ABOUT THEM
I am subscribing!I am getting chicks tomorrow and I really needed some advice. This will be my technically first time. When I was in Mexico I got a chick but I had to keep him for just 2 days befor I had to leave☹️So now I'm getting one and I want to be there for I to grow up!But it won't grow if I don't give him/her the right food and shelter! So I came across your channel and I know exactly what to do!I also love how your daughter holds the chick correctly! In other channels that I have seen I see like 5 kids surrounding 1 chick and like fighting for it and not holding it right like maybe holding it by its neck or its feathers!Thank you so much I find these videos supper helpful!💜👍🏻
Hi Lily, the answer is no. I only had the heating lamp, kept them in a relatively small box and kept the box in the closed garage. This should be sufficient assuming temperature where you live don't drop bellow 45' at night.
by the way the "permanent feathers" aren't permanent they are called pin feathers and once they are like 9months they will molt and get bigger feathers which in turn is there "big chicken feathers"
I got 6 baby chicken and checked out your videos to know how to take care of them! Thank you so so much! Can you give me a quick suggestions regarding what I should feed those babies? And what to do if they catch a cold? Thanks in advance! ❤ Love
HI Andrea, if you watched our videos you would be able to gather some suggestions in regard how to feed you baby chicks. We have additional videos available for you to learn how to adjust feeding routine as they grow. Regarding the cold - best bet is to feed them well and periodically add fish oil and B complex vitamins to their diet. I wish I had more to offer. All the best to you, Vlada
Okay.So I have 7 chicks and they are only 1 week old and they eat A LOT what I mean is they cant stop eating I have to fill the food every 3 hrs And they are really big and their feathers are huge for their age!
I noticed that you covered the floor with hay?(I think) Would older hay hurt the chicks at all? I have alot of loose hay that has stayed nice and dry after all the bails have been sold and didn't know if it would affect the health of my incoming chicks or not. Love your videos btw! They're very informative!
Adyson Stringer Hi Adyson, thank you for reaching out with your question. Answer is no, you don't have to use anything more than chick feed in but vitamins do helps keep them stay strong during first days of their life when they are subject to disease.
i got a few chicks the other day and they are about a week old so they live in a cage. Today i was feeding them so i let them out but one of them got stepped on by mistake :( and now it cant stand straight or walk properly, i am scared it will die :( i don't want it to die its been a couple of hours now i have kept it in my hands basically keeping it asleep, what should i do to not let it die ? :(
I am so sorry to hear what happened to your baby chick and for now receiving this message sooner. Is your baby chick still alive? If so is it getting better?
i would love to have chickens but i live in a town/ village that doesn't let them in, although there is a feed place and the town has horses. but when we move thats a different story my dad owned chickens but he hated his because they will peck at him but he said if i can train them we can get some
my 3 hens died due to a disease (breathing problem)i used to feed them soaked bread(chapati) chapati remained in their nest for 2 to 3 days, is this case of death
Hi, I am sorry to hear your hens died. That must be hard on you! Regarding the bread - I am not sure this is the reason your hens died but I will say chickens need more then bread alone to stay healthy...healthy grain, vegetables and protein is crucial in their diet....There is possibility soaked bread could have something to do with it but there are many other diseases that could cause respiratory failure.
Hello and thank you for reaching out. As for the baby chicks - they will need a source of heard during the first few weeks of their life. Perhaps you can use regular light bulb....All the best, Vlada
hi vlada 👋 .. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 🌹 btw i have a question , what vitamins or natural feeds you use ? tell me the names if you can it would be more helpfull .-.
Specaily there mouth is soooo cute like babys chickses mouth are soooooooooooo adorable but when they grow that's sad..... Who agrees with me and who digree s with me
ziane faiza Hi Ziane, lamp would really help. Before I had mine I used an old night stand lamp temperedly, this worked too. Young chick need heat but would manage without it should you be able to keep them inside the home or in other warm place.... :) I hope this helps!
Hi, assuming weather in nice you could take you baby chicks out on sun for 30 minutes at the time. However, even when on sun chicks should have a shady area to prevent overheating.
IncredibleGamerz ! Hi Gamerz, thank you for writing....Once chicks are fully grown they will start producing fresh eggs in return for love, food and care I provided for them. :)
Hi JD, I picked whatever local feed store had for baby chicks. So to answer your question any chick feed would do......Thank you for contacting us, Vlada
could u help me plz i have a baby chick and his sick he was born with a twisted leg and then after a while a babols start to form in his leg with liquide inside the babols after 3 days the liquide start to have a color its green now dono what to do can u help me ..... sorry for my english
Hi Chaker, I am so sorry to hear your baby chick is not doing well. I am not sure if I can be of any help when it comes to twisted leg and what it appears a possible infection. Is the chick eating and drinking? Is it alone or do you have other chicks around it? Are you in position to take a chick to the veterinary?
+Vlada Vladic yes his eating and drinking well and also I put him away from other chicks so his alone I think he has infection I will take him to vet thnx any way :)
I think that is a good idea....Eventually as it gets better you should bring another chick ( just one) to keep him company. Chicks don't like to be alone and do so much better when they are around other chicks.
You are taking good care of the chicks . I also bought some chicks. Two of my chicks were sleeping.can you tell me what can I give for sleeping chicks? Please let me know faster
How long have they slept? It is normal for baby chicks to sleep often and long however if they are not getting up with in 30 minuets something may be wrong.
Awesome videos 🙏.... Can you please let me know weather a single chick can survive if it is raised.... Because I was growing in lab to observe the embryonic development... And its 21 days would be on 27jan 2017... it's a single chick... as chicken are social birds.. I am worried about its isolation... Please let me know.... Thank you😊
Hi Soumya, yes chick could survive but you will need to step in as it's adopted mother. :) Chicks are social birds which means a single chick would "cry"a lot which is not pleasant to listen.....Knowing you work at the lab I am wondering if there is any possibility you could purchase another chick or two keep your 'baby' company.
Thank You Mam...😊😊 Can i know how do they behave When they are hungry and when they are bored... how to make them drink water!!!... sorry for asking so many questions🙊🙊... hope u l understand my anxiety😕
nice taking care of chicks...i like it...i inspired by you mam..me too following the same process..thank u..and a small request mam please make sure the names of liquids which ur using...
Hi Roger, thank you for reaching out. Regarding the temperature....honestly I don't have the specific number, but I say 78'- 83' would be ideal. Best to you, Vlada
Vlada Vladic actually I have newly bought broiler chicks who r very tiny tiny after there ist week .but very energetic and never want to be in the box just chirping weeping sounds all day.
I got 2 chicks from my dads friend he said to feed them chick booster dad refused, Another friend is going to help us raise these chicks he bought us chick booster because my dad already agreed.
Vlada Vladic mam, feeding of onion is good for chick i am feeding onion and small peices of rice to my chicks is that good for their health.plz suggest me mam.
rengaswami ashwini Hi Rangaswami, rice is great however I am not sure chicks would eat raw onions at this stage. Once they are grown chickens would eat cooked onions ( leftovers) but for now its best to stick to salad and other greens. Best of luck...: )
I learned a lot from Becky. She explains how to keep the light more to one side so they can escape the heat if they need. The grit, names of breeds, crumbles, the temperatures they need etc. Chicks are so adorable!
i have a chicken for three months and about to be four months it is big alrealdy i wish i build a robot or something because when we went somewere my chicken thorw all the trash from the bag !!!!!!! 😝
