Couldn't help notice the amount of turns of the wheel it took for a car of this vintage. Good advice and even for the fair weather drivers of classic cars, there's always enough dry days in the winter to go for spin. Thanks for posting.
@@James-gf9jl thanks for commenting, driven MKIV's over the last 10 years or more every winter both V4s and V6s have some videos in the snow will find out and post.
Agree....had many so called classic American cars that people only bring out in dry weather. But listen...there cars...designed to be drivin....wet,dry etc. Use them....enjoy them.
Fully agree with this, I plan on using a mk1 cavalier as my only car over winter, the underside has some old underseal thats cracking but i'm just waxoiling over the whole underside and then in the spring i'll wire brush it all down and respray with regular washes throughout, so nothing bad will happen. I've never understood people who "hibernate" their cars it's just ridiculous and as you say now is the time to be driving, petrol isn't getting any cheaper and they'll make it harder and harder to keep these things on the road. Even though i'm young I have the same mentality about use and that's exactly why i've only ever owned classic cars in my measely 2.5 years of driving
I think it's great ,love seeing your Zephyrs , out on the road Mk4 Zephyr zodiac beautiful motors , love the Essex V4 and v6 , I did own years ago a Ford Corsair 2000E V4 I did love that car wish I still had it .
@@fredmoran7945 the Corsair 2000E seems to be a very much overlooked car always drove well had a automatic one. Still got the engine scrapped car as was unable to sell it many years ago.
Good man car looks And sounds great love driving my one but off the road due to myself you are spot on with driving them as keeping the brakes free and tyres going out of shape well done keep up the good work man love the video
Lovely seeing cars of my childhood of the late 60s early 70s ,l used to look at the new fords ,my dad had a ford pop 100e in 1967 to 72 ,l used to look at the mk1 cortina 1600e ,mk1 capri ,Zephres ,zodiaks ec5 and wish my dad had one ,l used to have a corgi toy zodiac police car like yours. Lovely to see them being driven ,you can almost be thier .👍
Enjoyed listening and watching this . Don’t have a classic but would like one , maybe in the near future as I feel if I don’t get one I know I will regret it . Ps I’m 50 hoping there’s plenty of time xx love the rumble of this car x
I have 4 classic cars one of which is a Bentley T2 which I purchased as a daily driver although I would hesitate to take it out in the ice and snow especially with the dreaded salt on the roads. My enjoyment of classic cars is driving them not looking at them or polishing them.
@@clivehaynes2183 thanks for commenting. A good coat of lanogaurd will keep the salt out it's an excellent and easy to apply. To be honest don't think local authorities will have any money for salt.
@@larrybyrne111 My reply to that would be keep the car well washed and plenty of protection with lanoguard, and who would I be saving the car for no one wants older classic cars now generations are changing.
You won't convince the old codgers to use their cars in winter, saying that, most of them have the cash to put right what will go wrong from hibernating their old cars 🙄 I know my fiat doesn't like not being used, so i drive it whenever i like. You can always wash the muck off 😁👍🇮🇪
@@terryatkinson899 thanks for the comment. Not just about getting the car recommissioned after a hibernation period it's finding someone to do it nowadays. A driven car is a happy car.
