Praying is a great way not only to connect with the lord but to humble ourselves. To remind ourselves who is in control. There are always times we need to be reminded. I think this is a big reason it helps in marriage. We get so wrapped up in "our" own problems in "our" own wants and needs. Coming together to pray is therapeutic and a method to hear the other person in a different light.

I absolutely love watching your videos. My husband and I have been married 8 years and we have 3 children together. We do not have a great marriage by any means because he is set in his ways and doesn’t want to make change for the better. We fight and argue most days. He also shows anger and frustration now to our kids. He is very controlling and treats me like a child. He works full time and I am a stay at home mom with our youngest. He tells me all the time my job is to take care of the house and kids. Most days he tells me to stay home to complete my house wife duties. I have reached out to family, friends and even our church, but nothing has changed. I know things can be better through change and communication but he refuses. Where do I go with this ?

Please pray for us. My husband and i are also going through a difficult marriage. My husband is doing things he used to do before coming to Christ and he has been lying into my face all this time. A couple of weeks ago i found out, by Gods grace. I was very hurt and now i can't trust him anymore. And he doesn't understand why i can't trust him. He is saying that i'm resposible for his reactions! I have prayed and fasted, but it getting wors. Please pray for me to not give up on us and still show him Gods love. In Jesus Name

Hello, Denise. We’re sorry to hear about the challenging time you’re facing in your marriage, and we want to assist with this problem in any way we can. Know that we’re praying for you and your husband, asking God to bring healing and restoration to your marriage. We’d also like to invite you to talk about your situation with one of our counselors here at Focus. They would be pleased to offer encouragement and any helpful information they're able. You may call us at 1-855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. (MT). The Family Help Center staff member who answers the phone will arrange for a counselor to call you back. One of them will be in touch just as soon as they're able. In the meantime, you might find the following resources of interest: “Fighting For Your Marriage, No Matter What” -- bddy.me/3P3D1kY “A Marriage Worth Saving?” -- bddy.me/3RuSBIa “Why You Shouldn’t Give Up on Your Marriage” -- bddy.me/3RqpwNS “Is There Hope for My Marriage?” -- bddy.me/3OY7gcY We hope to hear from you if there’s some way we can put an arm around you, Denise. May the Lord bless you and lead you to the help you are seeking.

Hello, again, Denise. We understand the concern you expressed, and so we encourage you to talk with one of the pastors at your church or a friend’s church -- someone you respect and trust who will listen and pray with you about your questions and concerns regarding your marriage. One of them should be able to refer you to a qualified Christian counselor in your area who could help. That said, if you are ever able to make an international call in the future, you’re welcome to contact our U.S. office to speak with one of our counselors. You may call us at 1-800-A-FAMILY (1-800-232-6459) between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. (MT) Monday through Friday. If you call, please mention that you are calling from overseas and we will try to connect you with a counselor right away. Should the toll-free number not work in your area, Focus can also be reached at 1-71-531-3400 between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. (MT). May God bless you as you look to Him for all your needs.

Thank you for the hope that Jesus can be the resolve. We have pushed thru and stayed together 35 years , many issues with affairs and the latest one has just been revealed a month ago. God knows my pain and carries thru the moments of pain. Hope and Faith that GOD will heal the issues. We have loved each other thru all our fractures. Satin will not prevail , in our marriage. If it isn’t good Gods not done. Nothing is impossible with God !!

Thank you Focus on the Family for this timely two part series. After listening to Anne talk about her journey and especially what COURAGE stands for for her, I now know I too have been carrying unresolved issues from my childhood. This played on the choices I made growing up and affected my first marriage where I left. In the second relationship I'm in, my life's gone downhill. I too believed that I could control everything, that I could change my partner but realised the humbling truth that I cannot - that's God's role and certainly not mine. I need help and so does my partner. We need your prayers and definitely need counselling. But I do not live in the US hence it may be difficult to access the counselling facility you mentioned. There are counselling facilities here but most are secular. The last counselling my partner and I attended was from the church but I feel was short.

I don't think I'm courageous enough. I have to accept I'm only in control of me... but also my husband has chosen to not work in a year. We barely have money for food yet he wants to add his opinion on how the money is spent. He's emotionally abusive. Says sorry but never changes. I can't go on like this without it completely breaking me. I pray everyday for a breakthrough & that our circumstances would change.😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

If divorce is not an option, easier to have courage. Men shut down since they have no option to not get divorced. No fault divorce ruined marriage and the results are disastrous for society.

Thanks for your interest in our ministry, Svitlana. In response to your inquiry, we’re sorry to let you know that we don’t have any referrals in Poland. We suggest that you seek the counsel of the pastor at your church or a friend’s church (or perhaps a local Christian missionary). It would be helpful if you could share your questions and concerns with someone you respect and trust. May God’s wisdom and hand of grace direct your steps in the days ahead.

For many people to "save a marriage" is to keep the contract and stay together and miserable. I have a friend that was always saying how much he loved his wife. It was a kind of "too much". One day he confessed that he was miserable in the relationship. I remember how Marcus Lamb cheated on his wife and then was always saying how much he loved her. That was so fake and artificial. If you love your wife people will see it. Saying too much that you love her is artificial and the meaning can be the opposite. A lot of relationships start wrong from the beginning, and then they need to buy lots of books and watch lots of videos to try to transform a lemon in an apple. They should have married an apple from the beginning. Some of the best husbands I know were rejected many times in church groups. The jerks had all the girls.
