Honestly, her advice is great advice for teenage girls trying to navigate this new chapter of their lives. It’s so easy to get caught up in boys & people pleasing at that age & lose yourself in that. A lot of people have what is called a quarter life crisis in their mid twenties because they went along with what others said was right for them & then post college, got the job, the apt, etc & you realize you have everything you were supposed to be have to be “happy” (by others standards) & are somehow miserable. It’s so important to really get to know yourself during your teen years
My anxiety kept me away from solo dating for so long but since I went to my first solo date few years ago, it became one of my favorite things! Once or twice a month I go to my favorite coffee shop with a book and a journal, it's a place where I feel comfortable and it's not that uncommon to sit alone. I love the ideas for solo dates at home and picnic also sounds fun! :)
Solo dates are my favourite kind of dates. My experience dating men has been quite disappointing (to a point that I am quite scared of dating), and I am so used to doing things alone that I have no fear of doing things on my own. I often travel to other cities, eat, visit museums, shop... and there is nothing bad about it!
Yeah I agree my dating life haven't been the best either. Especially being a teenager and getting a dating app for other teens I mostly deal with a lot of shitty rude boys who only want to use me as an object. I'm honestly just fed up with it so I'm taking a break to give back to myself. No one gets to use me,no one gets to destroy my happiness.
I LOVE going out by myself! There's something special about being on your own time for a morning or evening and doing whatever YOU want. Don't worry about what others think, they are too busy worrying about themselves ❤
Okay here is something I do when I solo date so I go solo dates once a month so I take my journal with me and because we know dating as two people going out having a conversation what I do is look at it as going out with my past self where I read my journal entries from during the month and I reply to them after that I write a monthly review on my emotions and try to pin point where I can improve myself yeah ❤❤❤
one thing to remember is u can be in a amazing relationship and still go on solo dates. I am really happy to have my boyfriend and love spending time with him but also I make time just for me.
omg that little cute interaction!!!😭i used to assume that people think i am weird even if it is the first time they see me. now that i got rid of this thought i also have these cute little interactions with people and it makes me sooo happy. for example i remember going to a cafe and i was ordering, suddenly the girl who was taking my order said "so how is it going?" i was a little shocked at first because i did not expect that but she was sooo cute, she was like "i think it's midterm season now, how are u feeling? i hope you're doing well:)" and we chatted a little bit and it was amazingly cute. another example is again when i was ordering myself a coffee, there was that guy taking my order, i was paying cash and i gave him some extra coins so that it would be easier for him to give the remainder. he said "oh i did not ask for it because usually most people don't have that much coins on them" if it was the older me, THE LOLA ME, who assumed that she was weird and people did not like her, i would just awkwardly answer and avoid the interaction. but the athena me was like "omg these vending machines.. i have tons of coins because of them" he laughed and said "oh if you give me your coins i can exchange them with banknotes for you:)" he was so cute😭so yeah, nobody thinks that you're weird. you just assume that, therefore you radiate that energy and believe me, people can feel it. you look awkward and you feel awkward because of your own assumption, therefore, people avoid you. just be yourself and relax, we're all humans at the end of the day💗 IN ADDITION TO ALL THAT, I ALSO CONSIDER TAKING A REFRESHING SHOWER, MAKING MYSELF AN ICE COLD MATCHA AND SITTING TO WATCH TAM'S VIDEOS AS A MINI SOLO DATE😋
I remembered going out with friends and saw a lady eating alone. my thought then was wow she’s so confident and independent. I admired her since then I did the same I usually go out alone and it was sooo peaceful. well it’s a bit awkward at first because I didn’t know what to do. I recommend to bring your laptop or do your work then when you get used to it try to do other activities uk like an actual date.

I am 25 now and i feel behind in life coz i started Everything late till my college years i was so scared, shy who would never make an eye contact with anyone, would cry if someone raised their voice at me, never go out, my life was filled with toxic friends coz i was a big people pleaser But since 2020 i started my self healing and development journey, the toughest part was healing from my childhood abuse, which was killing me from inside, i was going crazy, i was depressed and suicidal, so i told my family everything, i also got rid of my shyness enrolled in a class, started to go out alone, facing my fears, made some amazing friends..............i am currently working on my career and dreams, Thank you so much for existing tam, i love you ❤️

Just found your channel, and I love it! I always do solo date every once a month, but I never put more effort into my looks. Always wear a casual shirt, jeans, and no makeup (I only wear makeup when I meet my friend). And after watching your vid, I think I need to start wearing makeup on solo date.

It's never been a challenge for me to go out alone. I've been doing this like always...as much as i can remember. It's so fun to be with myself and i don't have to be worried about anything. I feel completely blissful and calm. I prefer putting on my airpods and playing some of my favourite songs. And it's sooo fun.🌼🔥
I've been thinking about taking myself on a date for quite some time now, I'm not really one to enjoy being by myself, I always feel sort of lame when I do it and I always forget where to begin or how to do it. I've been struggling since I genuinely feel like I need to find myself again and start being my own person, so watching this video really made me realize, I need to do this. I have boyfriend for 7 years now and i still love goig out alone drink a coffee just enjoy the vibe or reading a book and being in the moment, I also like to go thrift shopping alone listening a podcast or music or just going to a book shop and look around even if i do not buy anything also i am a barista i have worked in a small coffee shop and never thought about it that why some guests are coming alone it just felt natural.
Eventually I was doing that without knowing it’s called solo dates. Before 7 years, I just moved out to a new country, I didn’t have friends and my boyfriend was always busy. So I was eating burgers in my car (loved that) , going on a shopping, exploring, signed up for a gym. And now 4 years later I’m back in my country, alone and scared to go to a boxing class by myself. So freaking sad. Try my best to go back to that part of me, being again my own best friend. 🤍✨💅
