Ogden Avenue is a street extending 37.5 mi (60.4 km) from the Near West Side of Chicago to Montgomery, Illinois. It was named for William B. Ogden, the first mayor of Chicago.
The street follows the route of the Southwestern Plank Road, which opened in 1848 across swampy terrain between Chicago and Riverside, Illinois, and was extended to Naperville by 1851.

I recorded it yesterday. It starts at the intersection of S. Pulaski Rd. and W. Ogden Ave. and goes all the way to the end of street in Near West Side of Chicago.

When I lived in Cicero Ogden Avenue was always a great alternative way to get to Chicago Stadium (United Center) because the Eisenhower Expressway was always jammed. Ogden is an angle street which cuts through the west side of Chicago and was part of old Route 66.

What’s really wild is that at one point, Ogden continued over the river and Goose Island, into the Old Town neighborhood and terminated at Armitage and Clark. Remnants of the original path can still be seen on Google Maps when zoomed out-since replaced with newer construction.
