Taking P&O Ferries from Rotterdam to Hull (Pride of Hull) - Pet Friendly! | LESBIAN TRAVEL COUPLE

We’ve taken our dog Theo into the UK from Europe several different ways, and this might be the best one yet! Taking P&O ferries overnight from Rotterdam to Hull was excellent. We stayed in a pet friendly cabin on the Pride of Hull, and the boat was very impressive. There were multiple restaurants and bars on board, as well as a cinema, entertainment lounge, cafe, and arcade. The pet friendly cabins are quite comfortable and all in all it was a reasonable price considering it’s your transportation into the UK as well as your accommodation for the night. They will check your pet’s health/vaccination documents ahead of time so everything went very smoothly at pet reception. Highly recommend!
This particular route in mid May for 2 adults and 1 small dog in a pet-friendly cabin was 245 GBP.
To get to Europoort Rotterdam by public transport we took the Maasvlaktehopper. The bus leaves from Station Vlaardigen Oost (bus loop B) to Europoort Rotterdam, Ferryhaven and needs to be reserved at least 30 minutes in advance.

You should totally visit Hull again! Theres tons to do there. If was voted "capital of culture" in 2017. Coventry is the current Capital of Culture but it is set to be Bradford in 2025. Hull is famous for "The Deep" , which is an aquarium that is under the sea! They also have an awesome Streetlife Museum, which is a museum that is set up like an old street complete with old shops as the exhibits. Theres a bunch of other museums near it

Wow we didn't know this!! We really didn't look anything up as we were just transiting through Hull this time, but definitely sounds like it's worth going back. The aquarium and museum look so cool, thank you for the tip! 😊

@@LezSeetheWorld hope you get to go again. It's a town that grew in its fishing industry, so it has a Maratime museum, but unfortunately its gonna be closed for a while as the roof needs fixing 😔. The Hull and East Riding museum is good though, got a bunch of archeological stuff in there. Both the Streetlife Museum and Hull & East Riding Museum is free entry. The UK has many many free museums and art galleries Couple of other places in Hull to visit "Ye Olde White Harte" pub which is from the 1500s. Be sure to see the skull inside! 💀. Its dog friendly too. And the Fruit Market , which is a big shopping/culture district with restaurants and cafes etc. Popular for date nights

Probably a bit late now but Ireland isnt quite as dog friendly as UK / rest of Europe. But there are a couple of social media groups dedicated to dog friendly places in Ireland. Slieve Bloom mountains are a great place to walk your dog. Kerry is a beautiful county to visit, particularly Dingle. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Thank you so much! This is actually perfect timing, we're in Ireland now (currently in county Kerry). You're absolutely right that it's not as dog friendly here as the UK, but we haven't had any issues so far as everywhere we've wanted to go it's been fine to have Theo with us. We're loving it here! 😊

@LezSeetheWorld believe it or not I actually grew up not far from Tottenham, had a season ticket back then, and eventually settled in Ireland. I visit Kerry so much I named my first dog after the county!

@LezSeetheWorld If you still have time then Slieve Bloom mountains would be on your way back to Dublin. Some woodland hikes there. Me and my dogs would be happy to be your tour guide! Then there's Glendalough in Wicklow, south of Dublin. That's beautiful. Or if you're staying west coast then Galway City and the Cliffs of Moher are well worth a visit.

I don't know if we'll have a chance to get there as we're continuing up the coast after this to Galway (Cliffe of Moher are on our list!), and will make our way up to Northern Ireland as well. We're managing to see a lot but there is still so much more, this country is so beautiful! 😊
