You must really love old Patrols. That is going to be a massive project, and at the end you'll have an old Patrol! Still, I can't talk. I've spent stupid amounts of time restoring Series Land Rovers, and at the end all I had was an old Land Rover.
I simply like making things that haven't been done before where the limiting factor is my own ability. I'm not sadistic enough to touch a Land Rover though... Owning a P38 for a year was enough.
the resell value for a "old" patrol is alot higher than most "old" land rovers on the Australian market, alot more people on the Aussie market interested in a old patrol than a old land rover of the same value because of the popularity. sure landrovers have all this glorius tech mechanical or silicon but a popular 4wdriver on RU-vid like 4WD24/7 has a patrol and goes places? wow they must be good. same goes with land cruisers. ive seen a old GU patrol stock as a rock with a TB48 motor in it go for $30k and its a 2004 model.
I have a shorty, Son must have been influenced as he now has a shorty. Went from petrol auto to Kettle manual project with his. Lol on the lifting a shorty on hoist comments. Had to take spare wheel off when engine out as the 1m spread on hoist arms is kinda scary. Enjoying your videos so had to subscribe!
