Love the video and very helpful. One question, when you get to Bridgeport do you have to get off train from airport and then board 2nd train that takes you to the waterfront?

No. All Northbound trains go to waterfront. You don't need to change from the airport to waterfront.

Great video. I'm assuming it is okay to take luggage aboard the SkyTrain, although I did not see passengers carrying any. So from the airport to Waterfront downtown, we buy a two zone ticket? This is very helpful, thanks.

Thank you. Yes you can take the luggage on the train. I see people with luggage all the time. As for the ticket, there is a premium that you pay when purchasing a ticket at the airport machines, but yes, technically it's a two zone ticket.

Very helpful video. Greatly appreciate the tutorial. If we are going as a group from the airport to downtown Vancouver, do we select "Buy Multiple Tickets" and purchase the 2 Zone tickets for however many people we have in our group?

Yes. I don't think there is a difference in price. The only difference is you pay once for everyone instead of paying multiple times.

It's about 30 mins to waterfront (end of the line in downtown)

Awesome video. I’m going to the Philippines and I have a 8 hr layover in Vancouver. This helps so much thanks! Question, is there a place where u can store your luggage so u don’t have to carry it around downtown? Lol

If you're connecting then your luggage should be checked in all the way to the destination. No need to pick up in Vancouver, but there is a luggage storage place if you need it.i think it's between international and domestic departures.

The other Skytrain line (expo line) goes to King George Station in Surrey. You would need to take the train in the video to water front station and transfer to the expo line, but there is probably a shorter way from the airport but by bus. Checkout Translink.ca for a better route.

Hi! I'm travelling to Vancouver for a layover for around a week, what would your suggestion be on getting a compass card? Would you recommend using the day pass system, or the store valued system? I will be using transport quite a bit whilst in Vancouver, what do you think would be the most affordable way to travel?

Since you'll be using transit quite a bit then a compass card is a must as it will be cheaper than buying individual tickets, but you will need to dedicate some time at the end to get back your $6 deposit for the card. As for stored value Vs. Monthly pass, depends on your travel. I am thinking that for one week it'll probably be cheaper to add stored value, do the calculation, checkout the Translink website for exact prices. Translink.ca

What is the difference between buying 2 tickets (for my wife and I) and buying the Compass Card? We will be traveling from the Airport to the Waterfront station (Cruise terminal). Is the fare cheaper using the Compass Card vs. the tickets, or vice-versa? Also from what I read I believe this will be a 2 Zone trip (Airport to Waterfront) but I did not see an option for a 2 Zone fare as you were going through the prompts at the Kiosk...Thanks in advance!

A compass card is preloaded with a value or a monthly pass, and you pay $6 extra to get one, which you can get back by returning the card to Translink office. Tickets are just tickets. The price is the same for both compass cards and tickets except you need two compass cards for two people. The airport station charges more than the rest of the system if you're buying the ticket from there, hence no zone option. Hope that helps.

Hello I will be going to Vancouver soon, I assume that at Waterfront station I have to switch and take the Expo Line train now to get me to Metro Town station, since that is where my hotel is. I plan on buying a Compass card ahead of time and preload it with funds. (Will that be more convenient as I will be staying a week there and doing some traveling on the Skytrain) Thanks

Yes. You would need to transfer at waterfront from Canada Line to expo or Millennium lines (for Metrotown they're the same train). Compass card is the most convenient way. You can buy it at the machine at the airport, and they also work for buses. You can also get off before waterfront and take a bus, check out Translink.ca website for directions, but your current plan is probably the simplest if not the fastest.

why when i arrived in Vancouver i didn't see that, at the arrival, there was only taxi

Maybe you arrived at the domestic terminal? It's a little further away than the video which shows arrival from the international terminal.

@@ehabweb I was arriving domestic terminal.. I found the info. I have to turn right and follow the info for the skytrain. Next time i will go with skytrain. taxi was 35$
