I love how they kept the Game Boy music as a bassline here and there. Not just for the nostalgia factor, but it gives it that bit of "roughness" that's hard to replicate with a more orchestrated or string-based soundtrack.
To be fair, what was to stop him from, in future nightime sleeps, dream himself back onto this Island... the saved evil free Post-Game Version, to visit & chill, especially with Marin? :)
I was thinking the other day that it sounded like someone riding a horse in a western, glad to see someone else was also thinking about something along those lines, although I like that Burro Loco thing x)
dude i havent played neither games but having listened to both versions of this song IM SO GLAD THEY HONORED THE OG BY ADDING THE CHIPTUNE PORTIONS, they're so clevery put in and like actually fit?? i got goosebumps literally
About 25 years ago I got as far as beating the 2nd dungeon. Never really played another Zelda game afterward. ALWAYS remembered this theme (which probably distracted me). Finally went back and beat the Gameboy version on switch Feb 2023.
@@grigoriyefimovichrasputin7897 facts, especially fighting monsters up there, caring a blue rooster, saving a red-head girl with your hook shot, I mean, how’d she even get there in the first place?
I mean, I think the new graphic style is pretty cute, but the old GB sprites will always be better for me. The OST, tho? This version of Tal Tal Heights is fucking amazing, lol.
I'm in the minority of being pretty hit or miss with a lot of what they've done with the game compared to the original, but man they fucking *nailed* this one
Oh believe me, it gets plenty of recognition, specially to us old school fans who played the game back in our Gameboys. This theme is incredibly popular here too back in RU-vid's early days.
The Sailor Scouts playing this melody, with Michiru on the violin, Rei on the castanets, Haruka on the cello, Minako on the flute, Setsuna on the bassoon and the others on the violins.
Something about the original just hits differently for me. Maybe it is nostalgia, but it just has a tone that the new version doesn't have. Not saying the new version is bad, I love it to pieces, but the old one just gets me so hyped.
@@sgtcoffmanThe original has trumpets while this one doesn't, that's the major issue imo! Check out the Link to the Past style version here on RU-vid where those majestic trumpets are back ^^
@@gurratell7326 I just listened to the original, and I heard nothing close to resembling a trumpet. Plus, the original only plays in two keys, where this remake plays three.
Just farm rupees by getting less than 30 seconds in the river race over and over, just look up the quickest route and boom it’s about 200 rupees per 45 seconds
Flashlight237 I think knew this version of the game and all the parts they upgraded were meant to enhance your memory of the original, not abandon it. So if a part worked well, they might try to keep it? As someone that never really played the original, the parts where it sounds like an 8 bit game don’t stick out like a sore thumb even tho you might expect them to
what i would like you to do is boot up your copy of the game, and go to where this song plays. notice that the location popup appears, and tells you you're in the Tal Tal Mountains. then walk back down one screen. notice that the music changes back to the original overworld theme. notice also that the location popup appears, and reads Tal Tal Heights. this is the theme of the Tal Tal Mountain Range. not Tal Tal Heights. and if i have to explain this to one more person? i'm gonna fucking explode. _stop calling it that_
Personally, I prefer the original for the heightened energy it has. This feels like great traveling music. The original felt like the epic finale at the end of the journey.
I dig it! Sounds like Tal Tal Heights remixed with Spanish Tune awesomesauce! With that said, I think it still takes second place to the original. This one sounds like the kinda tune that's play at a Party with a Play telling the story of this Adventure in past tense & celebrating Link's heroic victory over the evil that plagued the Island & the Wind Fish... whereas the original is my fav BGM in the whole game cause it's full of epic feelings of Adventure & "Big Damn Hero" action that also sounds perfect for representing a Mountainous area.
