Not really an expert but it I suspect it has to do with his arms shaking. Note how the other competitors keep their arms still.

Mistake was to not lock elbows immediately, notice how at first his elbows are slightly bent and he locks them afterwards, that's not allowed.

First lift, YES! 2nd lift was fine to me. The Judges gave 3 white lines. If one wanted for whatver reason be extra harsh on Salimi, well this is what they did. Overturning three white lights with an explanation not everyone 100% ok with.... I guess best thing to say is, "Lets agree to disagree...!"

has to be a majority decision to be overturned so it wouldn't be just one judge who makes that call. You can also clearly see his elbows unlock then press it back out.

His elbows were wobbling and shaking. In weightlifting, a good lift is a lift when your arms stay straight through out the jerk and you control the bar.

The world record was in the total, not the individual lifts. [ All the world records set prior to 1993 were invalidated due to drug testing.

The world record in IWF competition is whatever the IWF says it is.

Taranenko total lifting = 475 kg, Lasha = 477 kg.

Well after the competition, he said "I was so ready, I could've lifted more than that Georgian". He has also posted videos of himself unofficially breaking the snatch and clean and jerk world records in training. He was possibly our biggest hope for a gold medal at the Olympics. Yes, we got some other gold medals, but, we were just really lucky to get those. This gold medal was almost definite.

I'm prettey sure Behdad could,ve lifted at least 1kg higher than Talakhadze. He went into competition with a lot of self belief. Trust me, Iranian social network was filled up with praises for Behdad before the competition. He even broke his own snatch world record.

ali reza all you say is jost HOPE in someone, not fact. he broke his own record? talakhadze broke the same record. he just lifted one kg more (notice, talakhadze lifted a lot easier than he did). but the fact is, he couldn't lift 245, talk about jury as much as you want, but the fact is fact, he couldn't lift the waight that was 13 kg lighter well anough anough to make it count. I understand your protest, but you are subiective. the guy who couldn't lift 245 kg 3 times, can't win against a BOY who himself is lighter but lifted 13 kg more with ease and in first attempt. talakhadze won the world chempionships before that too, so there is no doubt that for now, he is stronger
