The jobs never end on these Talbots mate. I have to get mine ready for an MOT but been short of time, so hopefully get onto it asap. Hope it passes for you. X

You might want to check for a fan relay in case that failed. They might have bodged it by bypassing the fan relay with the in cab fan switch. If that’s the case (which I hope it isn’t) you may have to dig a bit deeper into the wiring to get the fans to work as they should. I’d have a look and see where the switch wires go. Don’t give up on it and scrap it, it will be worth it in the end. All the best for the MOT.

dont give up on the old girl they are well wort it got my one in2019 been working on it on off since then and its now coming together motd it and run it for a year so just replaced everything as im using it not much to do and its going to be at its best again should get it back on the go worth it in the end

I take the thermostat out it works a lot better if you're cold in winter put some tin foil on the radiator grill

I've got the a campervan with the same engine , I was having problems with the fan switch . Did u manage to get hot air come thru vents . I've changed the heater matrix on mine and thermostat and doesn't seem very hot .

Oh hope the old girl passes mot.Shame to get rid .But as you said it lots of work ahead cut your loses before she comes a money pit.Fingers crossed she passes.All the best either way.
