I LOVE tales from the darkside, watching it right now on chiller. There really should be more horror shows like this on tv because there is no need for cg effects or large amounts of blood you just need a mysterious plot and and good twist at the end.
@T81PA I loved these old shows like Twilight Zone. You never see this one. All I can remember much of is the intro and end here and the one Harry Anderson episode somebody taped off cable a long time ago. It's been too long and too infrequent. But I never missed these when they were on. At least Twilight Zone used to have Thanksgiving Marathons every year. So they're fresher. AWE the good old days. Why'd they ruin it? ..."waiting to enter us"...."Try to enjoy the daylight"
Original closing logos that followed included LBS, Tribune Entertainment and, after 1989, Worldvision Enterprises. Some prints delete the LBS and Tribune logos in favor of Lorimar-Telepictures.
I hate how the tv stations take out this part just to advertise what is on next....the opening and ending just set the mood...even if the story wasn't great, the intro and outro made it more thrilling.
When I watched Buck Rogers in the 25th Century on SciFi late nights, they do that sort of thing because it was only the SECOND TO LAST show before a block of paid programming. Planet of the Apes was THE last late night show before those infomercials, an THAT show didn’t seem to have theme song, opening or closing, that was up to my speed as Buck Rogers 🙁
@Cherish God interesting....because I could a told you that I seemed to have learned basic magic lore from that show. Particularly " Snip Snip" episode.
@Cherish God I think many shows of the eighties showed a kind of morality , a kind of natural law, even the tao was a common theme. For any who could hear it. Looking about me now.... Not many did. One could almost say they show us the way out before they close the gate. After that, you will have to learn to fly.
0:06 - "The Darkside is alway there, waiting for us to enter - waiting to enter us. Until next time, TRY to enjoy the daylight." - Narrator (Paul Sparer, 1923-1999)
Until next time try to enjoy the daylight......why don't they make shows like this anymore, a lot of stuff you see on tv tries to scare you with fake cg effects, but this show make you actually think this could be real when you were sleeping, it did for me
Sound very twilight zone/tales from the darkish, Miracle....I'm picturing this woman living in some cottage type setting with ivy on the walls of her house and flower bed surround a pond....that's the mental picture I'm gathering anyway....run with it....hope it turns into something :-)
@T81PA we really do need more writers making original things like this instead of pulling out their effects to make crappy remakes that don't mirror the black and white originals that scared you old school. I'm a writer and I just had an idea for a scary movie that's in this zone. A woman has dreams and she thinks she's just psychically predicting things, until she realizes it's something much worse, and it's out of control and getting deadly. Sound interesting so far?
@T81PA Interesting image. I don't know about the cottage, since I'm not familiar with that kind of neighborhood, but maybe the ivy climbing a wooden trelace against the wall of the house by the flower bed would give it a good look. Perhaps a tall over grown tree overshadowing the yard & brushing against the roof at night when she tries to stay awake could add atmosphere. I'll stay on it alright. I just wonder if I have to label myself to 1genre if it'll have to wait. Can I squeeze it in fantasy?
@T81PA I can see wood siding on the wall and the tall wide wooden trellis is flat planks of dark damp splintering wood cheaply hammered criss crossing imperfectly. Thanks for the image.
@angelface1710 LOL Just face it! YOU LIKE CREEP-O-RAMA LAND! We all do! Just don't open the door. Play music or TV to hide the house's creaks and check your door locks compulsively every 5minutes. LOL On the BRight Side as opposed to the DArk Side. It's better to be forewarned. When your home alone, Don't be decieved by the daylight!
