The amount of fun you had playing this game sold me on it! I’ve been listening to the podcast and I know how tough it is to please Mike so, this must be good! Great play through! Looking forward to trying it myself!

Love your videos, Mike! Well, I just watch the overview and impressions, but I love those :) You're the only youtuber I follow whose videos I don't watch on accelerated speed! :) I value your opinion and love how you cram such a good amount of info in while giving a feel for who might like the game. So, I watched Jon Gets Games play the 1st scenario and he said you don't automatically win when you complete the objective. The round plays out until every token in the bag is used. Because the win condition is checked in the phase after combat. This somewhat mitigates ( a little) the luck of the draw because you can still lose if a player gets killed during the combat round. You were in no danger of that but I thought people should be aware.

Not every game has to be complex. It's good to see silly fun stuff like accidentally smashing the wall before the optimal moment. Love stuff like that, when you laugh at the realisation of what you have done. lol Great fun thanks Mike and as always appreciate your thoughts. Checking the KS page the UK shipping is $30 which shives the cost into a pit of gloom! lol (ie the cost of the game would be close on £100)

Oof, that's fairly rough. I think it's comparable to other big crawlers, but those tend to have minis which I know add value to many gamers (though not to me!)

The EU shipping seems pretty realistic, considering the insanity we are dealing with now, but US seems maybe subsidized for sure

Nice video Mike! This looks like a lot of fun ... I was tempted to go in for this on KS, and then backed away because of the price and because I think I already get a similar game experience from GH: Jaws of the Lion. I see it is still available for Pre-Order, so I may look into it again now. Given that it's a SlugFest game, I think it's reasonable to assume they will expand upon it over time - lol ... now I just need to find a copy of Battle for Greyport

I think they might expand it, but all depends on success I suppose. Of course red dragon inn has TONS of content, but Greyport only has one expansion 😭

@@OneStopCoopShop I actually just heard from Jennifer at SlugFest Games yesterday, and she said they are currently discussing reprinting Greyport, "and should hopefully have some good news for Battle for Greyport fans next year." ...which I hope might indicate expansion (but I'd settle for the reprint, since I never got my own copy!)

Nice play-through! There’s a lot to like about this game - simple and fun with an old-school vibe, nice art and charming characters. But the price point keeps me away. I think about something like Sleeping Gods (base) game being about the same price and how much content I got with that, and that keeps me from jumping on board.

Interesting comparison. Do you think sleeping gods is way more than 25+ scenarios in this one? I would think they are similar, when you nail sleeping gods down to its main quests.

Looks great, the map tiles remind me of the scenario book in Jaws of The Lion, but at that price point im not sure its worth it. You can literally just get Jaws of the Lion for $35 right now and it looks like it plays kind of-ish similiar. Such a shame how expensive Kickstarters and board games in general have become : (

I don't think this game feels ANYTHING like Jaws of the Lion, except that they are both dungeon crawlers. I love Jaws, but it's a beast to play sometimes, especially solo. I don't compare any game prices to Gloomhaven or Jaws of the Lion, personally, because both of them are literally the most ridiculous deals in gaming, so they make everything else look bad! :)

Is never a fair comparison between a larger company and a smaller indie developer. Gloomhaven had been around and established a name already. Jaws of the Lion is no different than Catan at this point. You can buy it at big box stores like Target and Amazon. The sheer volume being sold will allow it to be sold cheaper.

The art in this game looks SO much better than Gloomhaven. Of course it's just subjective opinion, but art is one of the most important elements to me, since you are looking down at the game the entire time.

Gloomhaven (and Jaws), as well having incredibly tense and satisfying gameplay, have a frankly insane value for the amount of content you get. Comparing any other dungeon crawler to Gloomhaven is just begging to be disappointed. I don't know how much content is in this, but the preorder is 90 USD, and that seems like an appropriate price point for what you get from the Kickstarter. I'm sure the retail version will be less expensive if you just wait a bit after release.
