not everything has to be about Ahsoka and Vader
@QuinlanVoss.
@QuinlanVoss. 24 дня назад
Yeah Star Wars isn’t the “Tragedy of Darth Vader” or anything
@QuinlanVoss.
@QuinlanVoss. 24 дня назад
So you seriously like the fight with the 3rd sister vs Barris INSTEAD of a fight with Darth vs Barris
@ObeseMommy
@ObeseMommy 24 дня назад
@@QuinlanVoss. First of all It was the 4th sister she fought with and Star Wars now is NOT all about Vader Sure, Darth Vader is a lead villain in Star Wars but that doesn't mean he has to be the ONLY villain, he doesn't have to be EVERYWHERE We knew that Lynn left the inquisitors but not why Now we know that Barriss is the one who turned her to light so this story did not only tell us Barriss' fate but also elevated Lynn as a character.

@@ObeseMommy Literally no one cares about Lyn besides an obese mommy. It was safe story telling instead of giving the fans what we have been expecting since Clone Wars.

@@QuinlanVoss. that's the point. Vader's story has been told there's no point to keep adding more and more into it but instead focus on underutilized characters I'm pretty sure Lyn (And Barriss if not dead) will eventually show up in Ahsoka season 2 so this was definitely a necessary set up If you want to see more of Vader I can make you a playlist

If you think about it, Morgan Elsbeth was offered a chance to stay on the light side, but chose darkness, while Barriss was offered a chance to join the dark side, but chose light. I thought that was an interesting parallel, detracting from the rest of the theme.

Excellent discusion everyone great points around! To enter in the "too much redemption" conversation with respect to the inquisitors, it makes some what sense to me because most of the inquisitors are turned jedi, they have already so much inner turmoil and trauma, and I think that just leads them to be unsure of who and what they should actually be.

To the guy in the middle speaking about redemption, I think what he fails to realize even if I might slightly agree with him at the same time is that one of the fundamental themes of Star Wars is redemption. Other than the prequel trilogy of which I don’t think has a character go through redemption, correct me if I’m wrong every show or movie in Star Wars I believe does have a character go through that. I think that’s one of the reasons why we consider this notion that a Jedi philosophy specifically is how a character can come to the light and oppose the dark. That is quite literally what the Jedi counter and at one point Barris was in fact a Jedi. Regarding the tales of the Empire title discussion, I think you guys make some interesting points although I think the title makes sense because you have one character who embraces the empire and works for them by a technicality with Thrawn and then another in Barris who opposes it. I think the show tried to follow the ideals of Andor a little bit even if Andor addressed the Empire more directly then Tales did. However, I still think that the show has the empire themed around it.

Thank you for the feedback; in regards to Jordan’s take on the redemption, he is trying to say that though redemption is pivotal to Star Wars not everyone needs to be redeemed such as Lyn (the inquisitor). If you are going to redeem someone there are better ways to do it. He talks about it more in depth in our latest podcast that will be dropping soon. In regards to your thought on the title; the consensus of the panel is that we think there is better imperials they could have followed for the show but we do value your opinion and appreciate the feedback. When our next podcast episode drops we recommend checking it out because we discuss a lot of these points further. Thank you so much for tuning into the channel.

@@716ATKLegion yeah of course no problem! I can totally hear how you guys feel about those points, and I think something else to keep in mind is that for these two character specifically I also thought that this particular storytelling method worked well because because I don’t think these are characters that need their own television show or movie. I think that this show like Tales of the Jedi is meant to be a series that helps fill in the gaps and expand on the lore of characters. I don’t think it’s meant exactly exactly to tell this overarching broad story. I think that could be something you guys could add to your discussion is that what exactly is the purpose of a show like Tales of the Empire and Tales of the Jedi? You know it’s like did we really need all that stuff with Dooku and Ahsoka as well? I think that could be something good to discuss.

Guys, I think, with this particular set of shorts about key moments in the life history of Barriss Offee, it may be Dave Filoni and his creative team's (esp. Head Writers Jennifer Corbett and Brad Rau) way of setting up a Star Wars: The Hidden Path Animated series. It may be, within that extended story, where We see flashbacks of all of the intricacies of Barriss and Lyn's experiences being part of The Inquisitorius...like, Barriss asking questions about how/why The Jedi Order attempted to assassinate The Chancellor, what happened during Operation Knightfall, and becoming suspicious of WHO The Inquisitors' MASTER is (Lord Vader)...which could lead to her doubts leading her up to the point We see her in the second short, "Realization". I've had a thought in my head, regarding the little boy in the village saying, "They're hiding in the mountains..." (even though I'm aware of what the writers probably intended, knowing Disney's M.O., of late): Perhaps the Jedi is a female who was disguising herself as 1 of 2 individuals (portraying as a male part of the time), to throw off a clear description of who she really is, if any one comes searching for her? Plus, as an afterthought, maybe the child (through The Force?) knew that there were -- in fact -- 2 Jedi up on the mountain...1 being the target, the other being Barriss Offee, since she was about to turn away from being an Inquisitor? It seems, in the end, Barriss, like Ahsoka, becomes neither tied to The Jedi or The Sith, but is a Force Shaman/Healer, most likely sometimes directing would-be Force-sensitives, Jedi, and Former Jedi to The Hidden Path. It seems, based on the timeline, "The Way Out" takes place roughly weeks or months after the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, making it around 10 years since Barriss escaped The Empire. Some claim that her progressed aging stems from -- not just the harsh environmental conditions, but -- her repeated use of The Force to heal as many individuals as possible, given her past sins. Most likely, Barriss will survive, though she may be rather compromised now...while Lyn Rakish will be trying to redeem herself, after all of the atrocities she's committed...she probably will use The Force to severely reduced her connection to it (similar to Cere Junda), while assisting The Path in some way. It's worth noting that the Actress who voices Lyn, portrayed her in live-action in Obi-Wan Kenobi; which could mean she could make an appearance in The Mandoverse, esp. now that Ezra Bridger has officially returned to the known galaxy, with QUITE THE STORY to tell. Also, keep in mind, The Acolytes Of The Beyond are in full effect right now, during this time period...imagine Lyn Rakish going toe-to-toe with someone who had found her discarded Inquisitor lightsaber, and was wearing some of the garb and vestiges of that "coven"? It'd be just like Luke's encounter in the cave on Dagobah. Now, THAT would be really cool to see. I have to admit: I, too, initially thought that it was Vader who was coming for Barriss...would've made sense, as well. Though, it's very appropriate that the one who brought Barriss in to The Inquisitorius, is the one who is saved from it by Barriss. It shows how truly evil, insidious, and pestilent both The Dark Side and The Empire are. That's the main theme that ties these 2 subjects together: The Empire exploits, corrupts, and destroys so much, physically and spiritually. Notice how Barriss and Morgan represent opposite sides of the same coin of fate? One went ultimately towards THE LIGHT, while the other embraced THE DARK. In the end, both had attained powers because of their choices...with one becoming one with The Light Side Of The Force, and the other receiving The Gift Of Shadows. Good reaction, 716th Legion Brothers. May The Force Be With You...

So, Barris's story is actually a Tale of Jedi. Not a huge deal.

I would like too see how the grand inquisitor became to be in his role as an inquisitor and how the idea of giving former jedi this opportunity and his development/ - maybe tie in some rebels. For a light side character during that era, idk thatd be a tough choice, everyone loves hera from rebels id love to see how she connected with the rest of the crew in rebels and fighting off the empire after losing ezra and kanan.

To quote Loki: "Not everyone evil is truly evil, and not everyone good is truly good." I was going to say more, but I disagree with so much there isn't a neat way to say it all. Suffice to say, most of what you wanted regarding Imperial characters and the insides of the Empire is handled in Andor. p.s. I don't have any interest in the comics, though I do appreciate the introduction of Black Krrsantan.

To everyone talking about how “redemption is a part of Star Wars” yes, a PART, but not ALL of Star Wars. We need evil characters to convincingly be evil. Barriss was the perfect opportunity for a “bad gone to worse” storyline. It would’ve fit better to have Lyn and Barriss be the ones searching for Luke in the Kenobi show. Then, upon their failure, we can get a cool fight to the death scene between Barriss and Vader. But no, we gotta have these redemption arcs for almost every character in Star Wars now. Whatever happened to evil characters showcasing the side of true opposition? We saw this in Firelord Ozai and Azula in Avatar: the last airbender. At least Morgan Elsbeth’s character fit this sort of antagonist well, as she fought to the death against the cause that Ahsoka upheld throughout the show.
