Viv was terrified of Ernie Bewick. He beat him in the amateurs. He knew he could fight and had the balls to go to Newcastle with one lad to fight his mentor in Billy Robinson. Ernie smashed Billy. Viv decided to take a liberty and he punched Ernie. Ernie thought he lost and was driving away when the lad that was with him said that Viv was out of order there hitting you. Ernie was like WHAT? He turned right back around and marched straight into Vivs gym and Viv was all apologetic and said Billy’s my mentor and you were beating him. Ernie being Ernie decided to let it go. A few weeks later Ernie got told that Viv and a lot of his men were going to come to Sunderland to cause bother with Ernie so Ernie got 200 of his doorman and waited for them. It was bs. It never happened. Ernie was the complete opposite of Viv in that he wasent a bully. Both hard men but Ernie was fair. The Taxman thought he was going to have to fight Ernie cuz of some beef with some businessman. Both sat down to a cup of tea and Brian said you couldn’t meet a nicer man but when things would kick off. Ernie was a pit bull. Shame Ernie had to kill someone in a manslaughter charge that cost him the doors in Sunderland but the guy tried to take a liberty with him.
@@starboy7760 - I did and I also know the man and worked for him. Ernie’s a gentleman with no fear of any man. Didn’t matter how hard with you are/were. You cause bother on his doors back in the day(drunk or high). He pays you a visit on his own for a little chat the very next day, and more times than enough, the same people would come back to the club and apologise.
People need to stop with the Viv v Duffy stuff now mind. They never had a fight, so nobody will ever know what would of happened. The whole thing reminds me of school playground arguments, my dad's bigger than your dad rubbish.
Im from Middlesbrough and was 16 when lee died... Middlesbrough in those days was full of big lads who wanted the reputation to be the hardest in boro...lee might be the best known in boro at the time but there plenty of others who would carry on in the same manner...he was just a product of his environment... Even since those days there's plenty of others who want to be/are the same as lee but...no one could or will match him
So why did'nt he come looking for Lee when he was repeatedly knocking Vivs bouncers out left, right n centre ... literally leaving fellas awake to tell Viv he was on he's own doorstep ?
That only happened once duffy obviously wasn't looking that hard if he never met him think of all the nights viv was there but duffy didn't show up i very much doubt a man like viv Graham wud hide from anyone
Many people from different towns said that Viv turned down Lee numerous times to fight and Lee was knocking out his doorman relentlessly. Viv may have threatened him in jail when Lee was in his late teens, but it changed a few year later.
Errrm...if you listen to any other story abour Fred the head Mills, nobody would give Viv a chance against him. Bronson rates Fred higher than Duffy and Sykes
It’s like saying what would win a fight between T. rex and a Godzilla, never fucking happened and never will, much harder men about at that time than these, real gangsters , should let them both RIP
Like who if you don't mind me asking, Lee never lost and he fought them all. Lee destroyed anything he hit, and he took on multiple people at once, viv was a hard man but the duffer was exceptional.
@@braille5575 these people were not gangsters, hard men but not willing to go the extra mile to be a real gangster, people know who the real gangsters were in these areas, not hard to work out
Rob Armstrong what a Plonker! Gone straight Yeah - Bouncers in Newcastle back then thick as mince - not much difference . This guy seems alright - Francis Duffy the son - robbed everyone little oink -
I don't believe a word this bloke is saying about Viv and Lee by saying Viv warned him as it's well known that lee went looking for Viv and even knocking some of his men out and telling them that he wanted Viv and this bloke being close to Viv is going to stick by Vivs side
That’s the first time ever I have heard of Duffy backing down to Viv Graham, and also some woman saying Lee Duffy couldn’t live with many lads in South Bank, but this man was very good friends with Viv Graham, so you take it with a pinch of salt.
Lee beat everyhard man in sound bank so i dont know who he was scared off lee was fearless thats wot made him different he had no fear mentalaty beats braun every time lee had both
I agree with you.. Lee Duffy definitely was not afraid of anyone around. I think they had a confrontation in Durham jail of some sort but Duffy was the one wanting to fight . couldn't see him been warned by Viv Graham at all
How can people be glorifing these 2 hard men. They both got murdered. One was stabbed in the back and the other got shot in the back. It's sad it really is. But what I have read and watched show them as bullies and look what happened to them. May they both rest in peace but I bet they are both up there saying to each other I wish we took a different path eh mate.!!!!
@@Joethecatholic Brian the bullshiter lol trouble his he don't need to make exaggerated story's up he was a man mountain and hard as fuck but makes out he's next level on every topic he's full of shit
Is that topsy who ran the market tavern? Gotta be, he could have a go topsy like he had a few amatuers with a man i know wont say his name because he turned out to be a real wrongun. Phil stamps dad ran the one and topsy ran the other just forget its name
Most of Duffy's so called wins were sucker punches He would knock his victims out with 1 punch ,yes he obviously had a exceptionally powerfull fast punch ,but he wouldn't have won so many fights if him and his opponent stood 2 meters apart and then commenced fighting , Duffy even sucker punched Cockerill the first time they met after brian introduced himself
@@boyasakaYes I heard that as well. Lee was a notorious for whacking people off guard aka sucker punching them. Mind I heard similar bout Viv as well.
@@ianjackson8043 No he doesn't. Boyle is just planting names to enhance the Duffy/Graham saga. Just like Philly amazingly says 'Paul venis, dunno if you know him' just as Jamie is plugging a certain Paul Venis all over his feed. It's horeshite
Supposedly though viv rang Lee and said I don't want to fight you but if you keep chinning my doorman there will be trouble. Meaning I'll have you taken care of.
@@braille5575 there was a phone but that wasnt wot was said viv ask lee to back off and lee went nuts and said his coming down viv then left he did everything he could to avoid lee then they were both murderd
@@braille5575 and bronson said Fred would've done viv and Lee... The book says one of the woods brothers beat Fred and Lee thought both the brothers at the same time
Viv phoned up Sayers dad and told him he didn't want to fight the duff I'm to old now - and the dad phoned lee who wos not happy and looked for viv- who wos in hiding - Lee would knocked him clean out - Charlie Bronson was in jail with both Viv was a bully for the prison guards- and Lee wanted to be the daddy of the jail- and according to Charles Bronson Lee Duffy would of smashed the granny out of him Lee wos a hand full
Fighting is a young man's game. That is why in nature, the young Silverback almost always defeats the old Silverback. However, young fighters can be outsmarted and 'old maned' so to speak by a more senior fighter's experience. I think Viv was weary of Lee and his youth, energy and more so fearless attitude, The best chance Viv would have had is to try and outsmart Lee, and use smarts to beat him in a potential street fight or straightener. I wonder how Pat Tate would have faired against them lol.
@@Bereal711 100% geordie he done paul sykes twice in Durham prison he got the name Fred the head by smashing the door in Broadmoor Charlie bronson speaks of him highly unbeable liquid cosh they used on him

Duffy would of smashed viv graham and when he said Duffy would of lived with Venus and the others ffs Duffy would of battered them he was the hardest bloke around back then with Brian by along way
