This beautiful scenic drive has majestic views throughout the whole 54 mile stretch. The best time to see it is in the fall when the leaves change which is usually the last week in October or first week in November. Besides the amazing views there is also a historic cemetery as well as a little tourist area where you can see and experience something different.

Small trivia. Back in either the 70s or 80s, the old steam locomotive used to have a small sign by the large drive wheels that it would take 80,000 years for them to rust away.

Beautiful views. Around here the trees pretty much go from green to brown, with the occasional splash of red. It's amazing to see all the different colors. A lot of nice finds you stumbled on for that trip. That little train was pretty cool, and the view was definitely prettier on the way back with that blue sky.
@RhettyforHistory
@RhettyforHistory 5 лет назад
Yeah I loved the little train. The view was different depending on the time of day as well. Some of those trees had already lost their leaves completely or had turned brown like you're saying. It was interesting because there were different temperature zones throughout that which affected the leaves falling. I enjoyed it though. Thanks for watching.

Rhetty, thank you for allowing us to come along on your drive through Talimena Scenic Trail. You're welcome and thank you for joining us on the drive. I've thought about Ireland a lot this year as we've had more rain than normal and everything has really been green this year. @RhettyforHistory
@RhettyforHistory 5 лет назад
The scenery is different in Southern California but pretty in it's own way. For the most part the mic did pretty well. It was a little loud doing outside shots on the miata. The biggest issue was just keeping vibrations down because the miata is a little rough riding over bumps. Thanks for watching!
@TheGraveyardChannel
@TheGraveyardChannel 5 лет назад
@@RhettyforHistory Well, if you had to edit it, you did a great job leveling out the audio. It was professional quality. Viewers don't realize how difficult it is to deal with car vibrations, wind, putting the mic too close to your vocal chords, etc. :-) And, yes, we get every color of the rainbow in nature, even here in the desert. It can be very beautiful, but those colorful trees in your neck of the woods are awesome!

FYI - I heard on the news this evening where Leon Russell's Monument was unveiled today at Memorial Park Cemetery here in Tulsa. I haven't gone to see it yet and if I heard correctly, it is a big monument and cost around $42,000. The news media here showed the monument and it's black granite and looked big on the news video. I did see a photo of the monument on the tulsa world website and it's looking like a big monument too.
