Love your rides and grading... it always inspires me to get out and ride... I will be out there again riding soon.. thanks for the inspiration .. I have taken this ride but will do it again when I get my Harley.
From northern Illinois. Rode the Talimena heading east. Stopped about half way and stayed at Gibby's Biker Camp for music, camping and food and BYO drinks. Great people. Finished the second half the next day on my way to MS. As Adams says, it my not hit some of the number ones, but it does for enjoyment. Surprisingly impressed. There really is little traffic and I don’t remember a stop sign?
Beautiful views Adam. That's the best part of this country of ours is that we have so many different and beautiful views. From the West Coast to the East Coast.
US 71 from Fort Smith, Arkansas to Fayetteville is a beautiful winding mountain road that is about fifty miles. A good part of it is in the Ozark National forest and won't disappoint. PS, there was a burger joint in Ft. Smith called the spot. I don't know if it is still there. The "spotburger" was the best I've ever had. If it takes two hands to handle a whopper, than you'll wish you had three for this thing.
I just rode this 30 April 2020, the video does the course no justice. Everyone is friendly on the Road, I think the view is a 9 in my option. I can't wait to ride this again when I go to the KRIVER again. The downside is that the visitor center was not open. This is a definite must when you go to the KRIVER.
Wow nice out of the 4.8 million miles I’ve driven truck I never knew Oklahoma had mountains I only got to see the flat lands from Joplin MO to the Texas lines and now I want to go to the state to ride.
The Queen Wilhelmina Hotel! Enjoyed day visits there often in my youth. While you're in that area, check out the Heavener Runestone and Cavanal Hill---the tallest hill in the world. And if you can, try to ride the Talimena in mid-to-late October, when the fall foliage is incredible.
Dude, that gas is supposed to go IN the tank. LOL. When I used to live in Broken Arrow, OK, I loved riding out that way. Riding down there and back was close to 500 miles by the time I got done doing a little sight seeing while I was out sight seeing, made for a nice little day's ride. It was always more fun when someone came along, but always worth the ride. You're right, never as crowded as the Dragon, here in TN. Y'all ride safe.
Thank you for your service Wes... I will have check this road out on my next trip to the campground. Saw it on my way home from the K River. Almost made the detour ... I wish I had . Thanks sharing the ride Adam
Adam, have you ridden the Hwy 7 Scenic Byway from Russelville, AR to Harrison, AR? Very twisty road with excellent road conditions, and the views are beautiful!
Love that ride. We did it a few times and one time was in a fog at the right height....just below the highway, it made it look like we were riding in tje clouds! Congrats again on the records, Adam...everyone!!!
Have ridden this beautiful a road couple times. Took my wife the second time. She loved it. Now that i know KRiver is so close gonna have to take her there and ride this road again. I showed her a picture of the Glamping last week and she said "take me!"
Dang dude I just missed it leaving kriver, I stayed in mena Saturday night after the bring it home parade. I say again I enjoyed my visit and karaoke that sat night.
That is some awesome riding in that area. If you were talking about Mena Arkansas I lived 50 miles from there out by Glenwood Arkansas close to Albert Pike Camp. Surronded by National Forest. Very pretty country!
Man, we love the Skyway. We stay at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge Hotel in Mena and have a blast all over that area. Oh, Adam, we only spent a couple of hours at your camp Saturday, but almost half that time was spent leaning on the fence and watching Johnny Reno, Doc Holiday, the kid, his mom and all the roosters messing around. It was so funny and peaceful. Thanks so much.
I saw it at the kriver I was up there the weekend before you road in the OKC bombing ride and purchased your book but you were out running errands. I was OKC that whole week but had to leave before the ride. The I finally rode with you at Cajun HD ride and you signed my copy of your book. We talked a little but you were pretty busy. Hope to see you again at the lonestar rally. Take care and keep doing what you you are doing.
On our recent trip to Harrison AR I found the long sweeping curves just to be alright. Definitely third on my long trips behind Eastern Kentucky and Northern Pennsylvania. Probably will piss a lot of people off with my opinion. All about the switchbacks and tight curves.
I have ridden the Talimena many times. Lived in KC for a few years and would often ride down for the weekend and hit the Talimena, Pig Trail, and many other roads the Ozarks offer. Awesome riding in that neck of the woods.
Awesome, I'll be out that way next week and will definitely check this one out and maybe even stop by the Kriver for a night! I thought you were taking a week off? lol
I rode the byway last spring and the clouds were so low you couldn't see 10 feet. Oh well, guess I have an excuse to go ride it again this fall. Not that I need an excuse. I ordered the world record ride patch ... very glad I did the ride. It was assume and the people were great. Best of all we brung 'er home. Assume. I would rate rides higher the fewer "attractions" they have.
It's a great ride to be sure! Kinda reminds me of the Blue Ridge Parkway the way it was built on top of the mountain range - views on the left then views on the right.... One of my favorite roads in Arkansas is Hwy 16. It's a long road but little traffic and good road surface. Even riding the speed limit it is fun. Watch for deer. It also has some great views as well. Holler at me and we can share the road for a while.
I love Hwy. 16, running the ridge of the Boston Mountains all the way from Fayetteville to Hwy. 7 overlooking the Grand Canyon of the Ozarks. Beautiful country & a great ride.
@@oregonoutback7779 I agree. So many other great roads cross hwy 16 to choose from. Hwy 7 is good all the way to Hot Springs. Hwy 16 is good riding all the way to Heber Springs. Hwy 21, 23, 27, 9, 95, and a personal favorite 123 are all great rides. Just about any road north of I-40 and west of hwy 167 are worth looking at. Lots of others south of I-40 but they are spaced out further apart. Just keep an eye on the gas level, gas stations are spread out and the mom and pop places can close early.
the best part of the record ride for me was being able to meet so many awesome people from all around the USA as well as a very cool guy from BC Canada. Here's to next years "keeping it home" rally/ride with Mr. Sandoval! who's with me on that?
Have you ridden the Driftless Area, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois? Hills, curves, great scenery, great food. Prairie du Chien, Wi. in the center of this area. I'd enjoy riding this area with you..
Very well score Adam! When I came down to your Campground in July I did this nice little road trip was great to watch your video and see the view from the drone
very little of Oklahoma is actually flat but the western part of the state has a lot less vegetation then the eastern part of the state. where Adam is riding is the border of Oklahoma and Arkansas so the Ozark Mountains funnel into that area
Legit question. How’d him and his wife like that ASR seat? I just got mine, I’ve only got about 50 miles on it. So far so good tho, But he’s taken a good distance of a ride, how did they feel throwing down like that?
How long did it take to get back on your bike after your accident? Were you hesitant? I know I'm kind of wondering if I'm going to get back on once I'm well again. Part of me says No the other part of me says yes. I just love to ride.
Love my 19 roadglide. Location of the license plate is below the tail light just like I did with my 05 road king. Cant believe Harley put it on top of the light on yours. It's an awsome looking bike that you have and having watched your videos. Seeing all the upgrades I know it is. But I'd have to relocate that plate. Standing on top just looks odd on such a nice bike.
Coast Guard- a bunch of nuts in tiny boats that goes out to rescue much bigger boats when the weather gets too bad for them. RESPECT!! Keeping people safe on the water- no matter the conditions.
Adam I don't think you should retire the War Horse. Every now and then you should hop on it and remember where it started. Also, Ashley needs to ride it!
