This came on the radio at 7:05 am this morning. The man i love is in the hospital in ICU. I love him so much. His heart is in failure they say. Please send him positive energy to bring him back to me. I know his spirit played this song for me to hear this morning.
Gwen Stephanis version of this song is absolutely horrendous also I wish she wouldn't have made it Mark had a unique singing voice that nobody can duplicate and was a very talented artist
After years of hearing the No Doubt cover and thinking that was the original, it was a surreal experience hearing the actual original for the first time. It's one of the defining sounds of 80's music, like you hear it and you instantly think, "80's!"
I was alive and in my teens when this was released. When you are my age , 52, you can say the same about the music you hear from your youth. The No Doubt version was cool. I like No Doubt. Another band from my 20's. I am learning this on drums. At the start i found this insanely fast. It is 126 BPM. Now that i have given it a good go i can do the main beat but not yet the fills. Sadly Hollis, the singer, is no longer with us. Died rather early just a few years ago. I think he was 64. I know of songs that were covered but even the songs i knew where covers themselves. Full circle. Recorded music is funny like that. Do an original and it could covered multiple times in the spane of just 60 to 80 years. Heard of a band called Garbage?
lol...cool. Ill tell ya a story. I knew of a cover and i knew of the "original". Only to discover that even the "original" that i knew, was a cover....of a cover. Stefani gets stick for not getting the lyrics right, but she does do it right. She is not british unlike hollis but puts on a very faint british accent. I think it is this, that is making people believe that she is not geting it right. I am a brit and i can hear. She has got it right.
Hello it's 2024 and I love this incredible song can't stop singing it We all miss you Mark Hollis. Gone too soon. A great guy very down to earth very genuine and sincere. Love all the albums. Love you eternally
The lyrics of this legendary songs defines billions of lifes around the globe 🌎. Commit ourselves. Living proof we can last forever in memory.. RIP legend.
Ummmm nope not really. Within a couple generations anyone that knew us is gone.....and unless you're some star or whatever you'll be forgotten even in memory FAST. More have died than are alive now.....and how many do we remember? Even a MILLION of those? No need to be Pollyanna toxic positive ......radically accept it. You'll be forgotten .....totally. 99.999% of us all will.
Remember when life was good? Great music and less hate. This song makes me think of the happier times in life. Regardless of what everyone thought about politics, social, etc. There was no hate. That is all that exists today with people. Thank you Flock Of Segalls.. Your music makes me happy thinking about times when people cared about each other
Quintessential New Wave synth-pop 80s track by Mark Hollis and Tim Friese-Greene. The title track on the band's second album. RIP, Mark Hollis. Gone but never forgotten.
I have always loved this song by talk talk and then resurrected by No Doubt. Its just one of those songs you can listen to over and over. The music really gets to me and i love it!
I’ve listened to this song in the 80’s and I loved it but not one of the best songs for me at the time and now listening to it again to this day, it’s like a brand new song all over again, it is much better than I appreciated it before.
I had a dream this night, in which this song was playing on a TV. Though I like the melancholic tune, I didn't know what the lyrics were about. I rarely pay attention to lyrics. When I saw the lyrics here, I know the dream had very deep meaning. Dreams are deeply mysterious teachers from the subconscious.
My first language it’s Spanish but I really love this song, when I listen this song on the radio there are a few words that I don’t understand so came looking for the lyrics assuming that it’d had millions of views but got really upset when notice the low numbers,I CAN NOT BELIEVE how little people appreciates this beautiful song.
It's amazing to see how many people loved this song even though English is their second language. That's one great compliment to mark Hollis . I will tell you that even for me, as an an Englishman, Mark's diction was hard to understand. My favourite band was Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry was also difficult to understand and Mark's style was very similar to Bryan's . Peace and Love y'all ✌️🕊️
'ditto.' and i utterly LURRRVE it.. :- D Rest in Peace, Mr. Hollis - am so sorry, i wasn't aware you had passed on.. :- / *blushes..* if this is your legacy - as with the other music you guys made - you'll be rich in Heaven, as we are on earth with it.. love and all regards... /alastair.. xxx
10/2022 This takes me waaayee back...I was working hard, totally fit....Did real good. And it was all flushed with an accident. Treated like a criminal, on trial, by work insur (workers comp). Not all was lost, just dreams. Point is, a real winner...A strong person does not realy a on young body, blessing like great food choice...They survive for love of others, and continue, even if self worth is in the drain. For others, like wife and children, carried me through some hellish times. I am a Bible believer. EVERY Word.
[Verse 1] Funny how I find myself in love with you If I could buy my reasoning, I'd pay to lose One half won't do [Pre-Chorus] I've asked myself, how much do you Commit yourself? [Chorus] It's my life, don't you forget It's my life, it never ends (It never ends) [Verse 2] Funny how I blind myself, I never knew If I was sometimes played upon, afraid to lose [Pre-Chorus] I'd tell myself, what good you do Convince myself [Chorus] It's my life, don't you forget It's my life, it never ends (It never ends) [Instrumental] You might also like Is It Over Now? [Chorus] It's my life, don't you forget Caught in the crowd, it never ends It's my life, don't you forget Caught in the crowd, it never ends It's my life, don't you forget Caught in the crowd, it never ends
If You see the video of this song is about the care and protection of the animals and plants of our planet. Really is a Big ecological message of Talk Talk. We must transmit it to actual and future generations to avoid the ambiental catastrophe. Great and Deep song of this band.
This is the 80's 'new romantics ' AT it's most. Awe inspiring .TALK TALK ? One hundred time plus better than spandue ballet ,who sold out to writing Radio2 type ballads . God bless talk talk
Me and my daughter love this song ❤. She was 4 years old rocking out to some oldies with me and she loves all my playlist. Love you baby girl this our song ❤😁

I actually think this is going to be my "exit" song when I "kick the bucket" because it sums up what my life has been about. I wish I had seen Mark Hollis and the group before he passed. Remember dancing to it in the 80s.
Wtf, I thought this song was a No Doubt original. I had no fucking clue that classic version I grew up with was a fucking cover track. I feel so betrayed.
I’ve love the original since it came out. While I thought it was a great compliment to Mark Hollis that No Doubt covered this song, the original version will always be the best for me.
