TALK TO ME (2023) FIRST TIME WATCHING!!! MOVIE REACTION!!! 

You’re spot on with it being like a drug. That’s the whole parallel of the movie. It’s easy for us as viewers to see these kids destroying their lives, watching them see how this thing deteriorates them and they become monsters in the moment, and go “You see what it did to the other person why would you do this?! This is so stupid!” And yet, as a whole, people can’t seem to do that when it comes to drugs. We (in general) will know and see how it destroys people but young people will still choose to do it for what ever reason. It’s crazy the way they got that message across.

From literature we know that demons lie, they want to lure you in. So I believe that the dad was being honest and that Mia’s mom did in fact delete herself. I believe that spirit was NOT Mia’s mom, just an entity playing on her desperation and pain -

I'm so happy to see so many people reacting to this movie! The parallel between the possession being treated like a new drug for these teenagers is so fascinating because Mia's character plays out like someone who gets the worst of the effects because she's so vulnerable compared to the other kids. She's grieving and feels somewhat isolated from her peer group. I think Riley being younger is what attracted that older, sickly spirit because I suppose he is meant to represent health, innocence and purity (considering he doesn't even smoke and has been protected by a caring environment by his mom and sister), so perhaps his life energy is more tasty than the more experienced teenagers. Man, there's just so many interesting pieces to put together in this film and it plays around with a lot of already established tropes. I'm loving this trend of horror movies being more fun while simultaneously not holding back.

It's relateable how at the end you wished there was someone with you to talk about the movie - That is a big reason people watch reaction channels or film analysis videos. I often leave a movie I've watched on my own and go straight to the internet to hear others dissect it.

The Spirit initially in Riley was Mia's true Mother as noticed when she used Mia's nickname and when she alluded to her own suicide something the fake spirit denies and tries to manipulate, the Spirit in Mia causing all her troubles is the Water-Spirit in the beginning when Mis sees it, it never left her body once it entered, and appeared in the form of Mia's mother which slowly started to revert back to its original form (You can hear water like your under water when the Ghost talks during the beginning, which slowly becomes louder and more obvious and then physical changes, Mia's mother starts to have water on her skin and then finally the last scene it was bloated) the reason for this is going back to "It gets weaker the longer it stays in your body" The Water Spirit was getting weaker and so was slowly becoming back to its original form. Also notice how it tries to hide itself or obscure itself, initially, it appeared right infront of Mia when it was at full-power then when its effect lessened it tries to hide afar in mirrors or windows when its bloated and covered in water. Really felt bad for Mia in the end getting gaslit, manipulated throughout the entire movie and then to die and realize her worst fear has come true now stuck in a Limbo-like state in which time works differently (It's implied Months or even years have passed as we see Mia walk around the hospital, seeing Riley make a full recovery and then leave the Hospital) and when Mia was running to her father, the whole 'Heaven symbolism' of her father going up the elevator with white light inside was really sad knowing Mia was doomed to become just like the spirits that manipulated her.

This movie is an excellent allegory for how grief can push one towards addiction and stupid decisions, speaking from personal experience. The way everyone talks about the hand and how Mia describes the feeling of it being warm and “like glowing” is practically identical to heroin. It takes a lot for a movie to disturb me but this joint definitely did. I expected to enjoy it but not as much as I actually ended up enjoying it.

Such a good ending! Horror movie of the year

This is the coolest horror film I’ve seen since “Hereditary”! I’ve heard some haters saying it’s just another Ouija board movie. I don’t think so. To me, it’s original with the drug metaphors. People didn’t keep going back to Ouija boards because the euphoria was so cool. Mia truly loved Rylie. That was her little brother. She just got caught up in her mother happen to connect to him and didn’t release him in 60 seconds. It ended the only way the script could go… with Mia giving her life for Rylie to be alive and free. The actress playing Mia is astounding! I can’t believe this was made by RU-vidrs! I loved watching you! Man, you were love-hating it!

Definitely a new favorite, the shots were so great. I love how realistic it is, kind of, especially with this generation an all the weird creepy challenges you see being done online.

Ah this right here.. its called real movie horror.god.. i was verry terrified in the cinema (in the good way) and i love it!😂 its was a experience unique watching this alone ! Sadly there was some kids or teens arruin it but who cares!

Riley has been warned by the ghost in a first visit. They all should take a hint. This is worst than drugs. The ghost was not even her mom. It was the drowning victim. This movie did not come to play.

I have a little bit of a hard time watching this one because of the obvious parallel to drug use. I’ve always hated seeing people do that stuff so this one felt like a new drug that kids were doing. I do think it has some really good moments and portrays that new drug aspect well but it’s just not for me because of that. I have to give credit though to the two brothers that made this. It’s really well done.
