Hunter Schafer & Barbie Ferreira star in the new TV series that follows a group of high-schoolers as they face the struggles that young people encounter today.
Really Impressed with the interviewer it's really amazing to see someone of an older generation being so understanding and accepting of what young people go through today
i’m glad it was hunter and barbie, because i love the parallels between kat and jules. they both project confidence but seek validation from men to affirm their brand of femininity.
@@honeyreally232 rue's sister kinda does, and rue's a lesbian so she doesn't care what males think of her femininity, lexi is probably bi or a lesbian as well
For those that think this is inappropriate - at least you tried to watch it. Not inappropriate for me so I’m glad you all can just watch something else. That’s why there are so many options. Have a nice day!
Omg i was worried this interviewer was going to be out of touch (most talk show kind of interviews are) which usually comes across as really rude but she seemed so open minded and excited (: made me so happy
love black ughh ikr I wish my parents would watch it but being the strict ass Asian parents they are, they can’t even understand that sexuality is a part of life,,, they’re so,, sexually suppressed lmao
yeh im 13 and honestly related so much to rue. i think my mum and dad would be soooo shocked and would probably not believe this is the reality of life for teenagers
I love the whole cast and yeah the show may come off as vulgar but it's real. These stories are not exact but they are real to many people who experienced them in their way.
What I noticed with the young generation in general today is that they are so driven about their own appearance and appeal to potential play partners that they forget and ignore the well being and peace of other people (and beings). They run a thousand miles per hour towards their appearance and appeal goals that they step on others in many ways and they don't even see this at all. Appearance has become an OCD obsession and insanity to the point of leaving kindness and compassion in the dust. This is not a good development at all whether people are building up their self esteem or not. Building self esteem or self worth is not done by stepping on others. That is a complete misunderstanding of what self worth actually is. We are all in this existence together as a matrix. If you build self worth on cost of others you are not building up self worth because you are also part of the other whom you have just hurt in this process incidentally or deliberately. The way we build self esteem and worth is by loving ourselves the way we are naturally without stepping on others or leaving others behind. The media and Internet era brings with it yin and yang as everything does. The danger of social media is the constant comparison. You are not your appearance and your Ego identity. You are precious living beings the way you are by nature and you must come back to ground zero and understand this and love your body and face regardless of peer pressure, comparisons and jealousies. For that we need therapy centers with free therapy for everybody where people can let the tears from childhood trauma flow out and where we can heal our wounds.
wait a sec so Jules is trans? this is the first time I haven't gotten like hints from a show and now I'm realizing that they're literally right in front of my face. I'm still confused bc I only heard Hunter say that around 5:15 or something. edit: nvm it was 5:06
zoe it might not be like extremely obvious to someone who isn’t trans, I knew from the first episode (she gives herself an estrogen shot) and then her episode made it super clear (talking about jules’ transition)
Matt Pritch oh well thank you for telling me bc i was super confused as to what she gave herself but now i know :) and i’ll be sure to rewatch the other episode
Kat is such a POINTLESS character. She just throws herself around, no self respect at all - no originality. I absolutely adore Jules though, she has so much depth.
I feel like she's representative of a group who maybe hasn't found their way yet. They're still figuring out who they are and that sometimes manifests itself in self-destructive behavior. Maybe they're complete outsiders. Or maybe they're "in the circle" (at least externally) but inside they feel alienated. Kat is a fan fiction writer. She has a whole life online that is completely separate from her day to day life. Maybe her irl friends don't even know about that (or her cam girl persona). She kind of turned on a dime with her look. She's in flux.
