Tara, I really enjoyed your ride and words of wisdom. You really KNOW each horse. It seems to me that Bella is your 💛💛 horse, but all are given love, affection and outstanding care and consideration of their personalities, differences and abilities.
Your life with horses shows with your comments. There is nothing better than getting a horse out and about experiencing all environs. It's very interesting how one horse differs from another and completely true, you can feel it through the saddle. Loving Bellas progress so far. She is learning fast.
Yes, it is totally recognizable, the difference between being frightened versus stubborn. I’ve ridden both. You are very patient and perceptive of their communications. ❤
You explained Farouk & Bella's personalities - thank you. If you are going to train animals, you need to respect them enough to recognize that they are individuals. Farouk is a smart sensitive boy who was traumatized by the show ring experiences. God bless you for recognizing that and spent hours with him so he could develop into an exceptional endurance horse! Apollo of course is different again - smart, calm, dignified, kind, willing, courageous & gentle. And then there is our Bella - intelligent, curious, brave & a bit stubborn! She is walking along so calmly, got past those two vans after thinking about it for a few minutes & calmly dealt with that branch across the path. It is the complete opposite to the little miss in the menage!
I love different temperaments of all your horses; all are unique individuals. Knowing what to do to bring out the best in each is quite a gift! ❤️❤️🐎🐎😖😖🥰🥰
I mentioned a long time ago that I joined the site because of Friesian, Apollo. I didn't think I would take to Farouk and Bella so much. WRONG! I adore all three now and have seen their personalities develop and so too their training. You explained everything so well to us Tara. I am not an equestrian unfortunately. I do love horses though and always have done. The regular videos you upload, I know must take a lot of time and effort and I for one, really appreciate being able to spend time with you and Rens and the Three Musketeers. 😊
I appreciate that you explain the difference in Bella and Farouk. They are the same and different. My only experience with horses was working with therapeutic horses. All of our horses were very special and had a temperament built to taking care of their riders. Your horses take very good care of you as well. All horses are a gift. Apollo could have been one of the best for our riders.

It's so true, finding what the horse is well happy in doing! Many US military bases have riding stables. At one, there was a little cow pony, Buck, who I loved to ride. His thing was "racing" the jets when they took off from the nearby runway. Such a good little horse!
Lovely to see Bella so relaxed in walking, she loves going out. Thank you for explaining about the differences between your beautiful horses, all different and all excellent in their own way. Out of all I have a soft spot for Apollo, gentle giant, intelligent and brave, there is a calmness about him that I love.
A lifetime's experience in the saddle has brought you much wisdom. I enjoy hearing what you have to say about each of your horses. When you speak of Apollo, he is my favorite. The same for Farouk and Bella.
What a lovely plod/walk along the path in the shade with the little creek down below. “Lift your feet lovey” made me smile, although it looks as if Bella is a natural under your experienced guidance.

I loved learning more about the differences in the personality and learning abilities of your horses. Thank you for the explanations of some of the things you do for training and why . I love all 3 of your Musketeers but I have the softest spot for Farouk. That video that shows baby Farouk being terrorizing in the show ring in his former life before you had him just breaks my heart. He has come a long long way.

Poor Farouk 🥺 he went from a reactive horse to being a frightened horse 🐎His show training didn't just make him more alert and reactive but it turned to fear 😥of new things. Totally agree that endurance racing is not the same as endurance riding
Oh i know what you mean my 2nd horse a young gelding whom i rescued He could be the most stubborn creature He refused to ride psss an open gate I would spend about 15mins getting him to move he would just plant his feet never did anything bad but he sure did teach me a lot
Bella does have a mind of her own, doesn't she? I think it is a normal part of the breed - brave and strong minded. Arabians usually tend to be much more sensitive but Farouk clearly trusts your judgement now that you have become close 'travel partners'. I was always sure that my little three-quarter Arab mare was very sensitive and high spirited until something happened that I thought would really scare her. One day a neighbor's herd of cattle got loose and were running wild on a country road where the traffic often travelled at a high rate of speed - especially the massive milk trucks that raced around the country-side collecting milk from the dairy farms. I only had a minute to throw a bridle on my mare "Kinza" and to jump on her 'bare-back' in the middle a heavy thunder shower. I pointed her in the direction of the cows hoping to be able to round them up and drive them back to my neighbor's field. My sensitive little mare acted as if she had been herding cattle all her life and soon had the 'escapees' back behind their closed gate. From then on I never under-estimated her intelligence or her bravery.
I love all the herd, each one has their strengths in what they do and how they behave like human beings we are all individual. Apollo will do anything for mum and dad. Farouk would go to the ends of the earth for mum. Bella I think is going to be an all rounder she likes variety jumping trail riding exploring new areas and we have seen a small amount of speed up heart attack hill but she is still very young so she will let you know Tara as she gets older what she favours. Tara, even though Bella is primarily slow walking through this video, she appears - to this arm-chair rider - totally relaxed. What IS interesting to me is that her head seems more focused on the path in front of her, than interested in the sidelines. You also seem relaxed in your sharing, at ease and enjoying today's short outing. This feels like lovely. refreshing ride for each of you. Actually. In watching Bella's focus and her easy calmness, it has occurred to me that she seems so in sync with you with her gait having become the speed of your conversation!?! Hmmnnn. I haven’t had the amount of experience, but I certainly know what you are saying . There is a difference between stubborn and truly frightened.. I agree endurance racing is cruel. I’ve seen on where 100 miles in a day…
Thank you for sharing your horse knowledge with us, Tara. I’ve loved horses all my life and have had some small moments to be around them. I relate to your description of different horse’s temperaments, as I was a stable hand to a small 4 horse herd for awhile. Each one had their own definite personality. I’ve never had the opportunity to work with a knowledgeable horse person, so I love learning your insight. I’m curious if you have any plans for Bella’s future yet, or are you just taking it day by day. By that, I mean do you think she will enjoy any particular equestrian sport, or just be a good saddle horse? Thanks again for another lovely video. It’s my calm moment of the day.❤❤❤
It does come across the screen with the difference in personality. I’ve noticed it and wondered if it was so. Hard to tell on a screen that you’re holding in your hand. Horses are much like humans with their frailties and foibles it seems. Love all of your family of people and animals
