We look back at our weather experiences over the last year!
We quit our corporate jobs in South Africa and moved to a farm in Northern Sweden! We love DIY, the outdoors, good food, family and friends. Come along on this journey with us!

Weather and temperatures can fluctuate quite a lot between different years. Sometimes first snow in September/October and sometimes it’s in late December. November is usually the most cloudy and January/February is mostly the coldest. It’s true that it snowing more if it’s a bit warmer. The coldest days and nights are when it’s cloud free.

Hello Deysel Family, been a subscriber since your first video. What pulled me into your story was the can do attitude and the complete crazyness of moving to the north of Sweden to start a farm. The down to earth mentality you show is inspiring for everyone and I wish we could see more example like this. I live on the west coast of Sweden and if I lived close by I would invite you over for a BBQ and beer :-). Keep it up and thanks for showing me your brothers music. Have a great continuation.

Great video today, thank you for sharing. The winter temperatures here in Skåne is nowhere what you guys have up there. All the best for the winter, keep on going!

Listening to your experience with the climate up here, and describing it all, makes me appreciate the environment that I have grown up in and known all my life. It's easy to take it all for granted. 😊 Glad that the weather didn't chase you away - not even all the _bromsar_ ! 😉

Thank you for a very informative video. It is not that cold here in Denmark, but I love the four seasons. We do have very long days but not as much as you do. I wish you all the best till next time.

There is a saying in Sweden. Det finns inga dåliga väder, det finns bara dåliga kläder. It means in short that there is no bad weather if you´re equipped for it.

Guys you doing great!! Totally agree with the weather, only for me hardest month is November as its so dark and cloudy after the summer. My suggestion to you is find a good indoor activity for winter, padel, bowling, climbing etc whatever is in town as it really saves you. If ever you traveling sweden would be awesome to grab a beer and braai together, I'm sure there are alot of us here that would love to met fellow Saffas 😀

Hey... thanks man. Yeah a Braai sounds Lekker. We will check out some indoor activities, thankfully we have some indoor hobbies and of course winter we can do the upgrades on the inside of the house. Thanks for following our journey.

Howzit. Fellow Saffers here from the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Hubby and I stumbled across your channel today and have been binge watching your videos. We really enjoy your escapades and it reminded us a lot of our own experiences over the last 5 years. We have an old house we are renovating ourselves as well. If you ever make it to Helsingborg and want to meet-up let us know as we're just over the pond by ferry.

This november we reached -17 degres and 5 days ago we had a storm for two days with only -7 degrees but windy and snowing for 72 hours. But was not that cold yet, because we are in NOVEMBER. Let´s wait to January, WInter start ending december already. I like this city and have been everywhere wioth my fat e-bike.

what about electic bills now that we have "the electric crysis" with extreme electric prices

Yes we follow that news closely. The business model would not work well in Southern Sweden without some serious adaption, though the net benefit in climate also would play a role. You play the hand you have been dealt! 😉

Hey brother, got a question for you. I’m Gen X with 4 adult children (18-25) - what is the reality of them finding work knowing English when they first arrive? (Or do they have to know Swedish first) Also, I’m big on seafood, is it something legit you can do in the area? Limits? Cost? Thanks! Yeah, cold weather…max here is around -6C (I run 21.5 k 3xs a week, no shirt… but that’s max temp I can do that at!) lol! Take care you two!
@DeyselFarm
@DeyselFarm Год назад
Hi there! Depends on their skills, but a lot of people get work here not knowing Swedish (depending on industry). Seafood and fishing (summer or winter) is big here... Salmon especially. Costs seem acceptable. DM us on Facebook if you'd like to find out more!
