It’s amazing how much respect you’ve gained outside of just RU-vid. Tech companies take your smartphone awards seriously, and you’re getting some great opportunities to interview big names in tech. Great job man!
Was looking for this comment. And he held his own in the room with one of (if not the) most influential people in the world. As another 25 YO guy that gets tossed in high stake opportunities, I know how easy it is to crumble and that was impressive and kinda inspiring to see Marques really hold it down. It's bad for RU-vid when our largest stars get time with traditional celebrities and are poorly researched, nervous laughing, unprepared interviewers.
@@HEARD201 It's not. The world doesn't spin around youtube as you might think. Marques is one of the best youtubers out there but if you count the number of youtubers, Marques is "only" in 8th place when it comes to science and technology. Overall, and counting every youtube channel, Marques doesn't even appear in the first 500 channels. So, having an interview with one of the kindest and world-changing guys is a much bigger deal than having 8 million subscribers.
From a little kid reviewing an HP laptop to interviewing Elon musk and Bill gates if that's not motivational then i don't know what is. Follow your dreams people !
Marques Brownlee is more than a youtuber , i can say his a brother trying to change the world and the way people think about the youths were proud of you bro.
Marques is living the life. He's in his mid 20's, and not only does he have a massively successful youtube career, he also met personally with Elon Musk, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and now Bill Gates. He's doing what he loves for a job, I envy him and praise him.
@Arnie Kuenn Yeah, I didn't realise he was THAT big. After watching I got a recommended vid from Bill Gates' channel and then it clicked. A big win/win. This fella has power!
Alot of D... sucking will make anyhting happen ;) Jokes. Marques is a likebale guy, millions of subs and he his chanel is focused around tech and that fits with the people he interview :)
When you sharing a chair with Bill Gates that shows the credibility you earned as a RU-vidr. Keep going Marques I am proud that you are Stevens Institute of Technology alumni where I am currently studying.
Man, I think we don't have to stress that much when we talk face to face with some important people. They go to the toilets like us, they're are human being, their body work like ours, do you understand what I mean? I guess everybody could do that if we get the possibility of meeting famous people
They are just like us.. Normal people... I saw sting watching a movie in the back of a mercedes yesterday before he did a show in the uk. They are just like us
Bill Gates: Marques, can I buy your RU-vid channel? RU-vid: no it’s illegal Bill Gates: ok fine then I’ll just buy your whole company. RU-vid: *silence*
I knowwwwwwwwwww! I am smiling thinking back to that little boy who was just turning on his camera without any idea it would lead to this. God is good.
MB did his homework and research, asked better questions than most TV late night hosts. I am glad Bill Gates is a billionaire. If you own Xbox or Windows PC you helped 🌎 in a way, and if you own a windows phone you've gone far and beyond.
I've never seen Marques nervous, but I could tell you were a bit nervous in this one man. But it only makes it more real, and why I've always loved watching your videos. All the tech heads out here appreciate all your work.
he seemed excited maybe you can see the weight of the moment hitting him in some of the questions. He never stammered so I would not say nervous but his facial expressions are saying to me, holy shit I'm actually asking him this.
I love how Mr. Gates is just chilling slouched in his chair with a unironed sweater, grabbing his tea without the handle, not trying to impress anyone, just giving his interesting opinion on everything Marques asks, super humble
He is definition of not giving any fucks what other people think about his appearance and such. Idk I don't know much about Bill Gates in general I know he is CEO of Microsoft and some other stuff but with this I can conclude he is good man. Or he is pretending Idk I am optimistic most of time but I have just a little dose of scepticism about him.
Haley Margaret it’s actually $7.5 million in the time it took you to watch the video because of the diversity of his stocks and compounding residual interest that matures slowly it comes out to $7.5 million
Rene Veliz well actually it is common for wealthy people to drive cheap cars, wear 1 outfit, and shop thifty. Its how people become successful and well off. To become a millionaire, dont eat out for a while, wear cheap clothes, cancel cable tv, drive a 1500$ car paid in cash, work to pay off your house asap, and invest. If you do those things even making 40k a year you can easily be a millionaire.
I mean, we NEED population control, more developed countries are already aware and are doing so themselves but at this rate of growth in 20 years the situation would be so fucking orrible it's hard even to imagine. 12 BILLION people in 25 years is what the human population will reach if we don't do something
Imagine just randomly deciding to review a media center remote and that action leads you to having a conversation with the one of the world's richest people 10 Years later.
I'm so happy for you! Bill Gates is one of the greatest minds in generations. Getting to interview him is an incredible opportunity. And I know it's a daunting task - which you handled masterfully. FWIW, a friend of mine is an attorney for one of the charities that is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and he told me that they are unlike any other donor in that they don't just write checks and walk away - they offer full services to help charities spend their money wisely and make their dollars have FAR greater impact. That is what happens when a brilliant couple like Bill and Melinda use their immense talents to really try to solve a problem instead of just throwing money at it. It is remarkable. The world is lucky to have them.
@Bjorn Hendricks he worked his way up here, he wasn't born a billionaire, so you can't say that he doesn't do anything, he s already done his part, he created his empire and now using it's wealth to help others
0:00 Billionaires turning philanthropist -PlayInAnyOrder 0:48 Sit down 1:09 Can you summarize Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation letter? 2:13 What Bill’s take on electric cars? 4:39 The AI conversation, optimistic? 6:00 Short bits of good news/progress. 7:00 Optimistic about future of foundation? 8:40 How can MKBHD or YOU help? 9:54 Can Bill Gates still jump over a chair?
Kareem Saad he’s the richest man in the world? Your telling me you’d feel nothing more than an average person if you and him are in a room talking? Your talking to the future lol
TheSavages BotEver Often time that’s the case. But there are exceptions. I think I’d just want to see people present more evidence-based narratives on the perceived ill-intentions of some philanthropists. I’ve worked in this space and seen the strides made on the continent.
So much respect for Bill Gates. Seriously a lot of people just keep their money in their pockets. Always glad to see someone being socially beneficial in other ways than just tech.
Whats wrong with keeping money my family happens to be wealthy yet we keep our money and don't give it to any fool asking we believe in hard work and earning 💰
Marang ohdang I mean Charity and Helping others who can’t work or is suffering is good too some of the time. Bill gates its a rich mudda fucka he won’t lose anything
@@yusufasad Nothing wrong with keeping your hard earned money, but the problem here is not everyone is fortunate enough to live in a first world country or at least a decent country. Its not these people's faults that they've been brought to this world in a poor country with many health issues, where even if they wanted to succeed they wouldn't be able to. Not everyone poor is lazy, alot of them are some of the hardest working people but they don't have the same opportunities to make it out. just something to think about. 👍🏼
Marques... You just interviewed Bill fucking Gates!!! I remember when you had 300k subs and I thought "damn this dude needs more recognition." Funny how that worked out. Keep it going!
I remember when you were 3 years old and i thought "damn this kid will lie at youtube comment section to get likes." Funny how that worked out. Keep it going!
Bill Gates is probably the most humble billionaire to have ever lived, truly a legend. If only we had more people like him, the world would be a much better place.
Probably more... I'm sure there was a lot of stuff that cut out or edited, time to setup the mics and cameras and all of that, Probably a little chit chat after the camera's stopped rolling...This interview probably was close to an hour or more
@@ianwilds3139 im so happy a person who thinks the world needs to be depopulated to save us from climate change is also saving all of the people in the world from rona 🙏🏼 his generosity knows no bounds.
Exactly! Do you live in Seattle too? Mercer Island sucks everything onto its self. I'm going back to Oregon where I don't have to pay %10 of my income to support RICHEST MEN IN THE WORLD.
As far as Marques structuring the interview from start to finish and asking good researched questions it's a good interview - but yeah, there is something definitely going on there - more so with Bill. He's isn't just turned away - he's shrinking away. It would be interesting to find out what it is that's making him close himself off.
President of the world talks about ending wars (or launching them) not only discussing malaria issues and toilets! I wonder what's the role of those philanthropists in such fundamentals issues rather than dealing with symptoms or consequences !!!
@@moh_Alashwal When Gandhi started independence movement for Indians, he said it has to begin by cleaning toilets. It always begins with solving important grassroot problems such as eradicating malaria and solving toilet problems. You can't imagine how many other problems will be solved by just solving these.
@@RahilSethi I do appreciate such efforts towards these two major culprits causing mortality for humans. My point focuses on what efforts do such magnets against ending wars that crush ppl's lives. Saudi Arabia has launched a war against Yemen killing thousands and causing famine for hundreds of thousands of children. This crime is being committed in front of the world world and no one is doing anything or even saying anything.
@@moh_Alashwal The meaning of war is a choice and a desire to maintain peace and does not determine who is right but who is left... Don't try to justify what's right and wrong as if you stand on top cause its native to think you can save everyone in a war.
@@IDNassirr When I'm standing with my ppl who r under unjustifiable war, you think I'm standing op top throwing judgments over others. What an emotional numbness is this?!!
