It makes no sense what he is saying. How can you say the Gemara says the convert should toil to become Jewish, but then not actually accept even those converts who are sincere? He is disgracing the name of all converts.
It's a great point by Rabbi Bardea, as a person converting to Judaism what bothers me the most is insincere converts spoiling our names, and the Batei Din, instead of telling these spouses to break up, they were encouraging them to learn together etc. And when it came to me, they were scrutinizing me and my past as if I am a terrorist or something, or have had a problem with my previous Reform conversion. Which is a certificate that means nothing to me and I have burnt it and curse that person that misled me to making me think this was Judaism. In fact my knowledge of Judaism made these people scared as to how I know so much without attending conversion classes and maybe I might be too extreme in my views about them. So when he said most people are coming for the wrong reason, this is quite true. I just wish more communities that think they cannot have converts in their kehilla should advertise their position rather than keep mum about it and let the ger know about it only afterwards, when he has made significant investments to live in the Jewish community. If I was to do anything different I would have not simply jumped into a random Jewish community, waited to go to the US to meet my Rabbi whose shiurim I have been learning for so long and have nothing to do with the local Batei Din.
@@theworldreportbydr.rothschild a community that humiliates converts is no more than a cult in violation of Halacha. That is not the way to ensure survival of Judaism. Love the convert like you love Hashem.
@@theworldreportbydr.rothschild If your culture ignores Torah and omits any of the 613 mitzvot then you can have it because it’s just another reformed version of Judaism that no true tzadik should be apart of.
