HI August, Here I was just wondering what to do, its been raining all day, chores are all in order, I put a nice old iron skillet in the oven with some corn bread batter. The cabin smells good but I am bored. I checked youtube, and there it was! A fresh MonkeyBeaver video. ahhhhh... thanks. Smiling, George.

No tree channel gets as good as shots as August. Its cool to think that generations of the Hunicke family into the future will get to know August through his videos.

Gorgeous work. Your skills are huge and your experience is self evident. Economy of movement. Precision to every move. And a fantastic crew who work so well together this is a real satisfying pleasure to watch. About the choice of music… ;-) midlife crises happen and can present in a melancholy and quietude. Nothing needs saying; it’s just a phase to pass through. My husband and I have a small doug fir tree farm. Basically we just enjoy our life among them. We abut the Gifford Pinchot in SW WA. Well he’s just turned.. 71 yesterday. 71 years old now. He’s an outdoorsman and physically fit as can be… and he has led an amazing life - in his 50s/60s.. and now 70s.. until 3 months ago. He’d ordered a few trucks full of freshly mixed topsoil and had sprayed it with water after having spread it. End of day he played with our Border Collie who loves biting at the hose water, 😄 and he came inside covered in wet soil. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Typical, lol. Showered. We thought nothing of it.. then he got what we’d thought was a flu. Which he never gets. 2 days in w/a slight fever? He suddenly collapsed in my arms comatose w/a fever spiked to 105.6! Raced to a very dystopian ER scene in “the best hospital in PDX”, and he was thisclose to death and they couldn’t pin down THE bug to be able to fight it well enough. He was in hospital 3+ weeks, antibiotic drip bags 6 at a time! :-( ALL the “big gun” antibiotics. Hideous results. Tendons ripped up, and more, but they had to. Finally 1 of his very good Drs on a guess tested for.. Legionaries Disease. Legionella! Cruise ship stuff that isn’t contagious. It’s obtained solely via water mist. A single guy getting it is SO rare. It lives in.. freshly mixed topsoils. Who knew? And whirlpool baths, which we also have. They’d been very concerned how he got it, had to determine it. Tests out of a Medford lab as closest that can even test for it as it’s rare to begin with, always gotten in huge warehouses or cruise ships/big box stores via very big and complicated A/C cooling tower setups. Except rarely. :-( He is recovering. Slowly. He’s regained so much, but it’s not gone yet. He has months ahead. It ate a hole through his left lung. Besides the sepsis, encephalopathy,.. He’s walking and mowing only still now, and he has to deal with this sudden reality that he’s human, and aging. It’s not an easy sell. But he’s recovering. And he’s past the melancholy of realizing life goes by in a wink, He’s who he is. He must be outdoors and FOing something. :-) Goes too hard and regrets it as ever! But yes he’s back with us, and his bday party was.. joyous family times. ❤️ He’s our rock. And we’ve been together since we were 17 and 16. Lol things were different then, mmksy? 😄 Hang in there Sir. You have so, so so much more living to do, young man. 👍😀😊 you’ll be happier than you can imagine as you move forward, enjoying the good stuff. God bless you, and yours. Stay safe up there.

Just be aware he is in the Rogue Valley (southern Oregon) and they start early and end at 2 during the summer months due to the dry weather. It's been a while since I've been down that way but I think they drop down to at least the 60's overnights, but it has been hot for a week or so, in the 90's to around 100F by the afternoons. I live in Puget Sound in Washington State and we've been in the low to mid 90's here, though today it'll hit 81 or so and then drop into the 70's for 3 days or so before we get back into the low to mid 80's again. The Rogue Valley can be hotter than that. It is a bit of a deception as we cool down at night, but heat up during the day.

Good job August! I did two large white pines like this one, this week and boy are my ropes are gummed up from the sap, worked through it still but so similar in the process except I had some more space so I feel accomplished in doing so and watching you and your crew makes me learn and appreciate the job even more. Thanks and stay safe!

Another fine video. One of the many lessons I have had to learn watching RU-vid, is that people do not do things the way I think they should, but they didn't consult me before they did it. It is your tree, your saw and your channel. Why would someone feel entitled to complain about how (or who) you get gas in your saw! Love you brother!

It’s crazy how accurate you can be dropping branches from up high. I usually do it from a 70ft bucket truck. I’ve never worked for a company that had a full time climber to learn from. I bought some gear and practice on small trees, haven’t even climbed 70ft let alone as high as you guys go. It’s only a couple times a year I get to work with a climber to learn from, so thank God for you and the other climbers on RU-vid sharing your experiences

August! Wow, I really enjoy your content! As a Navy Veteran (Boatswain Mate / Rigger, line handler, etc) Love watching your knowledge of rigging and use and care of your ropes! I have also climbed, towers not trees and love the experience. I have a complete PETZEL full tower harness with seat. When I was working as an electrician now retired, I was given the chance to climb a water tower to service the warning lights. 185 feet to the ring platform, 240' to the top of the tank! Now the only high work I do is from a lift for Amateur Radio towers! I would like to hear about your experience with tower work, if any. Also, it would be nice to hear both sides of your comms. Keep up the excellent work, stay safe.

I appreciate the comment about the modification and issues. I modded the muffler myself on my 2511 T. I’ve taken it to three different shops in Central Oregon and there is no one that can get it running right. I’ve just about given up and put it in the back of the shed because it’s independable starting makes it dangerous in the tree. I know you mentioned on one of your videos that there is a need for a change in the timing setting. Maybe I need someone that knows how to do that?I’m desperately seeking somebody that knows anything about anyone that could help me. I would ship it out tomorrow to a professional but knows what to do! I love this little saw but it’s giving me fits!

Back pain. Lived with it all my life. Paper route at age 13. Big bag of papers (1963) every day 90 customers. High school and college worked in gas stations. Not a whole lot of muscles on a skinny guy. Back pain went away when I retired. I wouldn’t change a thing if I had it to do over again. Just saying…. N.E.OH Bob

I climb one day a week....no more....once every couple weeks is better. I love it.....but, it takes me several days to recover. Ibuprofen is my friend.
