Original Music that has been extended to play for 30 minutes. Game - Metroid Prime (GameCube) (2002) This video is not for monetary gain of any sort. Music and property owned by Nintendo.
With every passing year it gets harder for people to connect and understand just how amazing it was to go from 2D Super Metroid to 3D Prime. Imagine playing Super Metroid in 2D thinking it was the most advanced thing ever only to suffer an 8-year long Metroid series coma... Yet, out of that coma comes Prime in full 3D. You make it to Tallon IV and hear Brinstar's music in the background as you look up and witness raindrops falling on Samus' visor. This was insane, the same way people react to the RE engine's amazing graphics now - that's what Prime did for Metroid in 2002.
For me, Metroid Prime was a vision come true. Once I heard Metroid would be first-person adventure, I could see it. I knew they'd pan back the camera for morph ball and screw attack (later in Prime 2 & 3). It was the best translation from 2D to 3D of any game ever in my opinion.
Bro fuck off, you're gonna make me cry 😢... I will never again be in middle school, renting this intriguing new "Metroid Prime" game from Blockbuster for the weekend and then massively falling in love with the franchise, Nintendo, and sci-fi
It helped that the game basically just presented itself - here... go figure it out - if you can survive doing it. Nothing really explained on its face. But if you wanted to learn you just started scanning things to understand on your own.
I love how the music changes in Tallon Overworld from this classic, whimsical and curious track, to a more “aight we know what we’re doing let’s get the job done” typa beat
Never thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right - the music specifically changes only AFTER you have the full story context. That Tallon IV is a dying world, the Space Pirates are here and being douchebags, there's glowy blue shit everywhere that's wrecking everything and also that the Chozo have good tastes in architecture no matter the planet. Before, you were learning the world, exploring the world, trying to find out wtf was going on. Now you know, and it's time to clean house.
Especially on rainy days, this song's AWESOME to listen to! What's even MORE awesome is revisiting this masterpiece remastered on Switch! With a GameCube controller! You know how at the end of every mission, you're told "See you next mission."? Well, THIS is that next mission!
I have lately seen Tallon Overworld as a super subtle nod to Super Metroid Crateria. For most of the early game, until around when you get to the Pirate Labs (I think), it's the slow, choir rendition of Brinstar, then changes to the Depths Theme. Kind of like how Crateria changes to Samus' theme halfway through the game. I did say subtle, as Crateria went from the deep choir and spaced out strings to "ALERT ALERT" and then to epic personal theme, but the very core idea remains. I have always, however, seen this music as a sign of what was to come in Echoes' score. 8/10.
I like to analyze the music of this game. After you raid the research lab in Phendrana, that happy tune you heard is now replaced with this one: you know have an idea of what the Pirates are doing on Tallon IV, dealing with a very unknown and dangerous radiation, and weaponizing it. Things get very serious.
I remember the LoZOoT Master Quest CD came with trailers and stuff, and I'd watch the Metroid Prime trailer over and over again, and it used this music. I already owned it, I just loved that trailer so much.
Thank you for uploading these songs. Lately it is difficult to find them in extended version. I have a question. When you're done uploading Metroid Prime music, do you think you can upload all of Prime 2 and 3? It would be great if it could. Thank you.
Simply the best track in the entire game, and one of the best tracks in the trilogy. Sorry Phendrana Drifts, Tallon Overworld Depths is superior. And after beating Thardus in a long fight, the moment you step out of the elevator taken from Magmoor, it's quite the satisfaction to hear this banger.
Getting Ice Beam is the trigger for this song starting to play, if you’re wondering. It wasn’t just some random joke I made. Maybe stop wasting your time insulting people online who are just trying to vibe to the soundtracks of their favorite games.
i remember playing this game a couple of year after i got a XBOX360 and acces to HD game and still thought to myself that it looks AMAZING and ad insanly good music
@@vog2822 If you own or have ever owned the original then emulation is perfectly legal. The distribution is sketchy but that is the problem of the distributor not you ;)
