Tallulah was trying so hard to move further back, blocking her with her leg, crossing her arms, but Drew just kept coming... Doesn't anyone on her team ever tell her to back off a bit? It's not the first time a guest has been visibly uncomfortable, yet Drew has no idea.

To me, this families legacy will be the grace they showed their Dad, and in turn: taught me. Brain injuries can be so challenging, and there is not a lot of help out there. I thank the Willis family for opening the door and showing us how they live and interact with Bruce...it really helps

It's so powerful hearing Tallulah's story of experiencing online bullying at a young age and how it has morphed her self image over the years. I lived in Hailey, Idaho and had experiences with the Willis family so I am curious about what's going on in their lives. I wish the beautiful Tallulah well on her healing journey. I will say though that I sense the Drew can't really read body language. It didn't look like Tallulah wanted to be that close from her body language and Drew just kept getting closer. It just makes me uncomfortable watching Drew interact with people on her show sometimes as it seems like she's not totally self aware that not everyone wants to be physically super close.

@LL2-Light
@LL2-Light 8 месяцев назад
@@EastSide-qc5oy I hope that you will read this with an open heart and mind. There is no amount of money that can ease the devastation of watching your loved one destroyed by FTD. I know firsthand as my husband passed away at the age of 60 after a decade long battle, misdiagnosed for half of that time. I lived through the fear of losing him, and also the fear of being left with nothing to live on. Yet I do not look at this family as having an easier journey because they have money. In fact, I will be forever thankful that they chose to come forward to bring awareness to FTD.
@EastSide-qc5oy
@EastSide-qc5oy 8 месяцев назад
@@LL2-Light I am very sorry about your loss. I truly am. However, having a ton of money, being able to afford the best medical care available, the best facilities and doctors, being able to come home from doctor visits to luxury, having the money to control your own schedule and not constantly stress and struggle over how to handle it all while working, and not facing the sometimes devastating financial impact, all of these things unquestionably make dealing with any horrible health crisis or disease easier. It doesn’t make it go away, and depending on the disease it won’t fix it permanently, but that kind of cushion is an immeasurable advantage and you will absolutely never be able to convince me otherwise. Healthcare in the U.S. is insane and people can lose their homes and lose everything while in the midst of such a battle. Sorry but having lots of money absolutely helps.
@MsJellyBellyLove
@MsJellyBellyLove 7 месяцев назад
@@EastSide-qc5oy His wife Emma readily acknowledges that they have more money than most families dealing with dementia. She's helping with fundraisers. Other celebs, like Seth Rogen, have created charities (Hilarity for Charity) to help fund support for Alzheimer families. Celeb Maria Shriver, of the Kennedy clan, founded the Women's Alzheimer's Movement to support research, education, ... I'm sure there's more famous people out there trying to support others struggling with these diseases. eta: I read your second comment and ya, the American healthcare system is horrific. It's the only western 'developed' country with such a terrible maternal mortality rate - before the current war in Gaza, the US ranked worse than Gaza or the West Bank.

I like Drew but I believe she needs awareness training on the inappropriate nature of touching people without permission. I have a new chemo nurse who was doing this until I respectfully asked her to stop. You can see Tullulah’s immediate discomfort as she stiffens backwards in the chair, then adjusts her seating, to pull away politely from Drew’s hand on her knee, then to protect herself, crosses her legs and places her hands on her knee to protect herself from further touching. Possible all this is done subconsciously. Including Drew’s immediate touch. But consider if you were watching a 48 yr old male (Drew’s age) with his own show, placing his hand on the knee of a 29 year old guest (Tullulah’s age), and he’d done this regularly to other guests, would you be comfortable watching. As I said, I like Drew, but at only 2.08 minutes into this interview, I’m uncomfortable. And won’t watch the rest.
@JenniSilver
@JenniSilver 8 месяцев назад
Oh my gosh. Foolish me went back and kept watching. I did see Tullulah became more comfortable when she had a cushion almost imperceptibly angled like a tiny barrier on the chair. But then you skip to 7:46 and Drew’s practically in her lap, her guest is leaning as far back as she politely can whilst corned at the end of the chair, her knee couldn’t be creating a bigger barrier if she tries, Drew still touches her, and her guest flinches. This isn’t right.

What a very valuable insight. Don’t stop the negative chatter. Address the entry and set it aside. I’m 70 and still learning. I haven’t written a poem for awhile here’s my latest on a good day: “SING I embrace the shine to voice my sing From childhood to eldering. My voice is loud My voice is clear My voice my song, Once shattered by abuse muted my heartstrings Parents life story- NO EXCUSE! My voice is loud My voice is clear You had the power You had the choice To break a little girl Innocent and pure You lost my respect, That’s for sure! My voice is loud My voice is clear Narci mother destroyed me Molesting father shattered my trust Monsters under my bed, Thankfully you’re Ashes-to-Ashes Dust-to-Dust! My voice is loud My voice is clear Can you hear me now? Can you see me now? I’m out from the shadows Free from your sick gallows. My voice is loud My voice is clear I beat the fear Gathered my brokenness piece by piece Memory by memory Opening my heart As fear releases. My voice is loud My voice is clear Survived to thrive raised my dear children Now kindhearted adults despite all your lies. My voice is loud My voice is clear My heart is strong still you did me wrong Your Accountability is my song. My voice is loud My voice is clear Risin higher than the clouds Freed of secretive shrouds no longer an empty shell Now a warrior to sing my tell. My voice is loud My voice is clear 70 and proud I stand tall in any crowd. I believe in me choose to stay To share my victories. My voice is loud My voice is clear I am the me that was to be I’ll never slow down, no not me My mended pieces, scarred, Stitched together with grit I’m proud to say, I’m done with “their” shxt. My voice is loud My voice is clear Gratitude to those impactin(ed) my life Family is chosen Enhancing love Not dumpin strife. My voice is loud My voice is clear Gratitude to me, I never gave up Authorin poems to see. No more regrets, Reframin fear, Infusin I-love-me thoughts To soothe those threats. My voice is loud My voice is clear No more beat me up song in my head, No more secrets, Freedom Storytelling instead. My voice is loud My voice is clear Embracing my creative song in my heart Each morning, each night, Reciting gratitude, Moment to moment offers a brand new start🎉 My voice is loud My voice is clear My life is a gift, No longer adrift.
