A delightful presentation of the lunch purchased from Krishna Iyer Mess, Ramnagar, CBE. Perhaps this has come up after I left CBE. I had not seen this when I lived in CBE. My erstwhile employer Dr SP.Thiagarajan, nephrologist, has his residence on this street which I had visited when working in his hospital. The cost of Rs 100 I feel is quite reasonable for today’s cost of raw materials and labor. Your positive remarks of the sambar and potato poriyal are realistic. Same for the pudalangai kootu and rasam/more kuzhambu. Aviyal is always considered to be an expensive item because several vegetables are added. In our families Aviyal is for very special sessions like marriage lunch. A small quantity of pal payasam would have been better. The appalam had become like a piece of cloth material due to the weather exposure. But again Rs 100 cannot give us a lunch with more items. I liked the video in full. I recall the days of 1969 when RSPuram Annapoorna at the premises of Rangaswamy Chettiar, served ‘super’ lunch for Rs 1-25 when all other lesser restaurants served for Re 1 or even lower. Annapoorna gave unlimited rice, sambar, vattakuzambu, morkuzambu, kootu, poriyal, appalam, curd, pickle, salt, payasam and one hill plantain with a beeda. When my salary in 1969 was Rs 350 this 1-25 lunch was a luxury. Sri Venkateswara Mess on State Bank Road (where Shanti theatre now stands) served daily lunch 9 AM to 2 PM for Re 1, without payasam, fruit, and beeda, with one kuzambu, one poriyal, and buttermilk. Extra 30 paise for curds. That was in 1968. Nostalgic when you look back.

Is it worth for r Rs.100? Annapoorna,Anandhas are charging rs.100. They are serving more side dishes and their hotel ambience is excellent. I think they can charge 60 - 70 rupees

Hello Mouth watering Manoj Kumar your review is as usual nice to watch the video. Finally you told that they are giving small quantity of sambar & vathakolambu in a meal they are giving sambar,vathakolambu,ram,buttermilk & two types of vegetables it's enough. If they give more quantity it will be waste. Wasting the food is criminal offense. This is my opinion. For 100Rs it's worth

Manoj iam ur subscriber iam chef and my native place is Kerala I don't know about a1 or banana slice but I can judge the quality by what I saw. what u said was correct sarkara varrati in a1 is good and all other quality was good In banana slice good review. What I felt by seeing ur vedio other than sakara varrati all good in banana slice but chenna chips could be little more thinner so it melts in mouth.. Genuine review... All the best

Pricing is ok brother 150rs,200rs ku only chicken fry, mutton sukka vanki saptu health spoil agurathuku, 100rs ku rice, sambar,rasam, mooru+side dish really worthable and good for health.... For this 100rs those menu is sufficient
