I think the way Tamaki uses "daddy" is so cute and not "kinky" at all as some people think, he just thinks that the Host Club is his family, he's a pure Golden retriever boy ❤❤
he's calling his self daddy because he doesnt realize that he actually loves her but he sees it as him loving her as his child its kinda a weird thinking but im pretty sure theyll end up together if they decide to make a season 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 and so on

It can be creepy but it’s done in such an endearing way it’s hard to dislike. It’s kinda cute how it’s like Tamaki doing the type of love his dad shows him so that’s why he thinks it’s familial at first and it’s kinda cute how he also acts somewhat similar to Haruhi’s dad.
Remember people, back then "Daddy" actually means being a Dad or a Father figure. Not kinky/fetish like the ones that is used today. Ngl, I sometimes wonder why it became like this. The "Daddy" was an innocent word until someone decided to make it a fetish
Well, to be fair, in some relationships, a husband and wife with children will refer to each other as “mommy” or “daddy” in a teasing way, so I can kinda see where it started 🤷♀️
It took me so many rewatches to fully comprehend that Tamaki is just accidentally mixing familial & romantic love. He’s so desperately trying to make the host club resemble a family unit- by doing stuff like referring to him and Kyoya as the dad and mom of the group- that he just automatically sorts her into being in a daughter position. He can’t even recognize that is feelings for her are romantic, in fact he’s the last of the entire host club to be the one to realize he’s in love with Haruhi. I understand how it could confuse some people lol 🤍
I had a huge crush on this guy and to this day I still don't know why I like him so much 💀 Maybe it's because he's the himbo comic relief character which I often fall for.

Tamaki being dad and Kyoya being mom is perfect. I think its sweet how they all thought of each other as family. Even if it turned very.. weird at times. Its kinda like how co-workers see each other (if they all dont each other and secretly pray for each other's downfall). I never thought of it as a fetish oind of way. Well, one I was very young when i watched this show in its entirety. And two because i thought Tamaki and Kyoya were cuter than Haruhi and Tamaki. I was living out my family fantasy through two anime boys, a bit crazy but i was 12. And i have no father figures in my life. 😋

I mean, why would she? Her actual father is a cross dresser, and people are opposed to that, but it's fine that he/she is still her dad. So Tamaki calling himself dad is just the same. She wouldn't want to counter tamaki if that's what he really wanted to call himself, I mean its his fantasies/world. So for her, it's probably just another day in the host club. And she wouldn't be opposed to things that bring colour to her life. I guess 😅😅😅

Honestly, Tamaki just might be one of my favorite characters in all of anime. Not only is he attractive, but literally nobody can compare the the insane ridiculousness that he radiates. Admittedly, he can be a bit misogynistic (mostly because this was made during the 2000s, back when girls who did things like Haruhi was seen as unnatural), but he does it because he cares despite being in the wrong (this anime itself didn't age well when it came to that topic anyway). He's so over-dramatic, slightly egotistical, and stupid. Yet he's absolutely hilarious, loyal, and caring. You can't help but love him. There truly is no other guy like Tamaki. And thats what's so great about him.
The actor who plays this role in the English dub was always so sweet to his fans at conventions. You'll see comments about that from time to time, as he was always in great demand at those events. I remember his patience as a badly stuttering young fan tried to spell her name for him. He acted like hers was the only autograph they had to do and his gentle encouragement helped considerably.
