I LOVE Whitney Houston, but if I absolutely had to choose, I'd go with Mariah. Nothing at all wrong with what Tamar said. It's her personal choice. People can be so dumb.

i didn’t get the outrage either lol i even watched that interview when it first came out. tamar said she was always a mariah girl and toni was a whitney girl. i share her same sentiment too as tho i feel whitney is forever an icon and goated singer i always preferred mariah and i wouldn’t be mad at someone for having the opposite opinion. people like to complain bout anything i don’t get it.
Toni literally imitated Whitney in her live performances so you can tell she was heavily influenced by her. Mariah came out around the time Tamar would be really be paying attention to music. Basically is her generation Aretha/Whitney.
I choose Whitney all day, everyday, and twice on Sunday, but we already knew Tamar was Lambily. Like, ya'll already knew this LOL. She wasn't disrespectful, she just has a preference.

Whitney just can't do what Mariah could do in their Prime's...those are facts...and the receipts are all over the internet...Whitney is the 2nd greatest voice of all time...but even she knew that Mariah just has way more tools in the shed.
In their primes Mariah didn’t have Whitney’s power, clarity, control, tone, or versatility. And let’s be clear on something else, Whitney is not just considered the greatest bc of her voice, but her performing abilities were unmatched! Mariah wouldn’t have dared to stand on the same stage with that woman in their primes and for good reason. And you’re right there certainly are receipts all over the internet and those receipts have the majority of singers and non-singers alike, placing Whitney at the very top. The Voice. The GOAT! Mariah struggles to get most people’s top 5. But I can understand why Tamar prefers Mimi over Nopy, they share a lot in common as singers, which is mainly lip singing.
@@jamesbutler3960ACTUALLY the only thing Whitney has on Mariah is a better head voice and better belts. Mariah might not be the best belter especially above E5 but she has better runs, better transitions between registers, better lows, better control THROUGH OUT her instrument(even though Whitney has better control in her belting register), Mariah also obviously has a bigger range. As a vocalist Mariah is a lot more well rounded than Whitney.

There goes your credibility...cuz out of the vocal trinity, Mariah was by far the quickest (versatility)..mid range power...Whitney...Upper range (not just whistles, but ya, whistles!) and Lower range power was easily Mariah...so sit down...Whitney had an amazing tone, but Mariah has MANY Tones...listen to her full discography before you make nonsense statements...ive listened to ALL of Whitneys...and probably more live performances than you (definitely all of her EPIC ones)..and I stand by my statement...as do most vocal coaches and Julliard (the music school)..do your homework, and you won't be able to say what you just spewed up there. @@jamesbutler3960
In their prime and out Mariah will never touch Whitney Mariah will never be seen as a better singer than Whitney, especially in a live setting. Where it counts the most. And we both know live Mariah does not want to go toe to toe with a prime Whitney in a live setting. We are talking legacy singers vs an untrained singer. Mariah still gets compared to Whitney today. Whitney even influenced and inspired Mariah. Mariah said so herself, even she knows she is not on Whitney level.
Mariah and Whitney are EQUAL vocalists, at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. It's really not that serious. I prefer Mariah over Whitney too, but that's not negating the incredible talent that Whitney was.
