At 2:58 she whistled to test it out. She did whistle along with the track, but what people don't understand is that she did that as precaution to make sure it was perfect. I've Seen her live and she whistled a Capella at her concert, she is capable of doing it. Let her live for once.

geegee thomas It was Toni in an interview I watched on TV. Were you in my house? I don't remember you being there. She was speaking on Tamar's vocal range which is wider than hers. Not to say that Toni isn't a great singer. I love her sultry voice which is different. Tamar's reaches very low to "almost" match Toni's, and then up to "almost" match Mariah's. Both are beast at singing. The reason I said she was 12 is because La Face wasn't pulling young solo artists in their tweens to sing. Wink wink MJ wasn't discovered, it was the group that was discovered hence The Jackson 5. Back in the 90s there wasn't any "solo" tween artists. Brandy was 16 when she was signed, Aaliyah was 12 which she was signed by her uncle, but didn't release anything until she was 15, and Tevin Campbell was 15. Wasn't a huge market for solo pre-teens artists back then. Yall can hate all you want, but if you don't like her than why are you here? Why not watch Toni's or Traci's videos? I watch them all to tell you the truth, but if I didn't like them you dang sure wouldn't see me on their videos hating. I don't have time for that, too many other videos I could be watching. There's no doubting she can sing, but she really needs to work on her stage presence and facial expressions. This performance and other performances I've seen make me not care to see her perform live. Take a que from the greats when it comes to performing live: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner. Janet Jackson and Icons like Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and etc. She needs to study them and figure out how to bring her own best to the stage.... "Study the greats and become greater" - Michael Jackson.

Kay Lin I think she needs to practice singing going up a mountain. That helps. P Ditty use to do that to his artist to build up their endurance and adjust to singing. That's how Beyonce is able to do it. Her father use to make her do it.
Whether she lipped the whistle note "here" or not, the fact is that she can DEFINITELY hit that whistle note. One thing that no one can ever take away from Tamar is that she is a gifted singer. I have had the pleasure of seeing her in concert, and as a fan of music, trust me it was nothing short of Amazing.

If she would have put that mic up to her mouth like she was singing before the mic was more that likely going to go out because a whistle note is very loud and I know she got at least two big speakers in that room so that is why she didn't hold the mic up close to her mouth so it wouldn't be so loud

And even if you heard the next lyric before the whistletone died out, if you were really listening and looking, it's a large space she's singing in, the acoustics are bound to travel. Basically the entire performance was echoed. It was live.
Everyone needs to cut her some slack she deff has a serious throat on her and her career is just getting started I see big things for her and glad she is getting the opportunity to live her dreams as a solo artist.

If you looked at this video you will notice she made some mistakes, like she cracked at one point. She was breathing really hard at another, and did three whistles instead of 2. What she did her was was different from the actual song. It wasn't lip synced.
deshawn18 pratice whistle 2:57, 3:18, & 3:26. No one would sing an entire song then lip sync two whistles. You know how absurd you non-industry guys sound? You know how difficult it would be to copy that into a song that she's not singing perfectly. Play this video along side of her song and see since you no for sure.
This was a solid LIVE performance. Of course, there were some prerecorded parts of the lead vocal in the track. Lol. Everyone does it. But, HER DANCES KILLING!!!

She hit that note for real. Wow! You go Tamar! The girl can sing undeniably. Some pitch parts, but I am guessing the fact that the red ear piece falling out repeatedly caused an issue. Overall, well done.
Anyone who was impressed with this performance is not being real with themselves. This woman is clearly still very amateur, even after having the opportunity to watch one of the best do it - Toni Braxton. I think Tamar was too busy thinking she could do it better and wanting the kind of attention that Toni gets, to really learn from Toni. This performance could have easily been a h.s. talent show performance. Her 2nd album is flopping so far and I think people are finally getting tired of her gimmick. Tamar either needs to take singing and performing seriously or stop. She is clearly more concerned with looking "beat" and being a diva than being a top vocalist/performer

the pitch is off because its video taped off a phone that doesn't necessarily have good camera quality so commenting on her vocals can not be just but we all know she can sign. Overall i just think she need to work on her performance..her eyes are wide open at the beginning its a bit scary..sometimes it looks as if she's drunk , touching your hair to much, (the emotions need to transfer as truthful and not as performance in other words sing the lyrics in the way they mean to you) By all mean I'm a Tamar fan I'd like to see her Win but lets not deny the fact that her performances do not need work there's always room for improvement ...If this comment happens to fall by one of her PR's or management crew .
