I am 70 years old and was born and brought up in TBM . When we lived there near Selaiyur on Velachery road it was the most beautiful place . No pollution no crime no traffic I studied in Christ king convent upto fifth standard then went to school in city and did my PUC in Christian College . My dear late fathers final resting place is in Mudichur cemetery . I left TBM in 1984 because after retiring my father who was an electric train driver on TBM to MSB line passed away . Tambaram was paradise in those days but what I can see now in the video it looks overcrowded and lots of traffic . My our lady of Fatima church is still there and I still love my TBM but doubt if I will ever be able to visit my dear TBM again . Love you TBM and cheers from Australia .

Tambaram is best location for both bachulors and for families.Apart to it its surounding 3km is also good and centre place to live.

I lived in Porur Street, Tambaram East from 1939 1o1955. I studied in National School for 2 years when it was started in 1940, then Corley High School and finally did my post graduation at Madras Christian College. At that time my uncle S.K.Subramamanian with half a dozen of his friends from MSM Railyay built a house in Porur Street and settled in 1936 . At that time there were hardly 15 or 20 small bunglows in that area. There were no roads of any kind. He was a visionary and was solely responsible for starting a small Panchayat office for East Tambaram. The Vinayakar temple in East Tambaram was built by his effort .You can see a plaque even today at the temple with his name.Unfortunately he died at the young age of 39 in 1942. AAdhi Nagar. My good friend Muni Aadhi was my classmate in Corley High School and we used to sit in the same bench. Later hebe became an AiADMDK MLA and Speaker of the Assembly. There was a large catchment area between Christ King Convent and Selaiyur lake. Aadhi by his influence settled a lot of his followers in a housing colony and it became Aadhi Nagar, a total illegal land grab . In those days the park with the radio on became a center for socialising . Very few people had a radio at their home. This was life at East Tambaram.

Near Singa Perumal koil, Thirukachur Marundeeswarar temple edict (of Raja Raja Chozha period) refers Tambaram as Thama-puram... might be the original name of Tambaram...!

It has become more crowded suburb . I worked in Thriveni academy in 1990as a teacher That time it was the last suburb. We used to have luch at a famous hotel for just Rs seven I love south Indian food. Bus fare for my school to Paris corner was just Rs seven. I am 67 years old now but feel to go back Chennai and re enjoy the company of lovely Tamil people. Now I stay in Pune Maharashtra.Can not forget the golden daye spent in Vedekpattu just 25km away from Tambaram
