Whisky.com reviews the Tamdhu 18 years. Tamdhu is owned by independent bottler Ian Macleod. This 18-year-old single malt matured entirely in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, which is reflected in the taste and its strong colour. The elegant glass bottle is reminiscent of the Victorian era.

it is one of the best 18 years old. my nephew has a macallan 18 sherry oak and we prefer this tamdhu 18. not easy to find in canada. we waited 3 years for a bottle. the 15 years old and cask strength tamdhu are fairly easy to get. it is expensive but not overpriced.

Agree Tamdhu across all age statements is better than Macallan equivalents.

Sometimes old whiskys matured red oak casks can be over oaked for my liking, that is why I prefer the Glendronach 15 to the 18. But I woukd like to try this one one day

Tamdhu just makes a fine spirit and their cask selection is really good, I'm a big fan of the 15 and the Batch Strength but haven't tried the 18. Enjoy

Im exactly the same, the 12 is good, the 15 is sensational & love the Batch Str too.

I loved the 15 so I bought the 18 and it is very good, but I don't think it is worth double the price. I really couldn't detect any difference in taste between the two.

How does this compare to the Macallan 18, the old Billy Walker Glendronach 18 or even the Tamdhu 15?

Pretty much above 15 years old, there is extreme price gouging in scotch. An 18 year old costing almost three times as mych as a 12 is ridiculous.

I love Tamdhu but 130 pounds for a 18yo when the 15yo is wayyyy cheaper and still a wonderful product.... i mean... i don't think the 3yo at this point of age is justifying the increase. I guess they've balanced this because of the cask cost + market increase.

It is too expensive, i’m sure it’s a great whisky but i’m not going to pay 175 euro’s for an 18 yo. Additional crucial information: this whisky is unchillfiltered, which mean that all taste, which took 18 years to get it, is not filtered out.
