Pleasantly surprised with this one, popped it open last night. Another elegant Tamdhu. First impression on the nose is rich, dry sherry. Sweeter on the palate, more and more as you sip it. Sherried, nutty, with lots of red fruits and touches of vanilla and marshmallow. Zero alcohol on the nose or palate, impressive. Love this Batch 7.
Fair review. I have a few bottles of the Tamdhu Batch 005 and from your review, they certainly come across, to my palate, as being less (overly) sweet. The Tamdhu 15year old is one of my all time favourites and definitely worth the try 👌🏻
Crazy deal popped up and I just ordered this exact bottle. I recently opened the Old Malt Cask Tamdhu 15 and I'm appalled at how good that is. I was glad to run across this deal on the OB CS.
Nice review! I’m definitely a fan of Aberlour and Bunnahabhain cask strength offerings and I’ve been wondering about Tamdhu. Sounds like it might be too sweet for my palate but if I see it on a bar I’ll give it a try.
Just had a tiny sample of this and came looking for some more info. It's definitely worth a try, some of the earlier batches could be had for real bargains prices and I did enjoy them. Pricing on batch 7 is definitely higher... Thanks for making this video!
Problem with Tamdhu is that they jumped their prices way too much. I have both the 12 and the 15. The 15 in particular simply does not justify it's price. I like it, it's a good whisky. But $140 for a 15y old? Sorry, it's not even close to being that special. It should be priced between $80 and $100. Not to mention the 15 year old is so freaking muted, nose is particularly weak, the 12 does it better.
