Check out Tame Impala B sides and Rarities also on YT, that's how I found this song! I live modern tame impala but the earlier you go the more surprises there are, I wish he would bring some back
One of the few bands today that actually knows how to play fucking music. Every inch of my body wants to be apart of something like that. They are so incredible and they deserve a spot in rock & roll history for sure.
Actually kevin parker itself said "Tame Impala has two lives. One is the album, which is like a producer, and the other life is like a band. More of a live incarnation where we're basically a covers band for the albums that I produce." and he wants you to stop calling Tame Impala a band haha
JAM (AT THE TOFF) LYRICS How you gonna let me know? When the moment comes to show you What we like to talk about Listen to me, (?) just where I know Where you’ll be Just when I might come on running Just when I might come around I know you won’t be wondering where I’ve been half the time No word of reassurances from the other side So I wonder if I did it right
With this sound i have learned what is forgotten i have ascended onto a different plane of existence there is more to this life that i am living i am alive
you don't need to be under an influence to understand and appreciate good music if you understand the underlining pattern of thought this music is influenced by
I stumbled on this tune a few days back and have to say this is for sure some of the best guitar playing I have ever heard... Would even make Jimi SMILE! :D
They're as awesome and alive than ever now. I saw them twice since Currents came out and yes it's all more synth based, but holy shit new songs are cool and the old ones rearranged sound so fresh!
Listening in 2018, and I really hope he continues with these psychedelic, creative guitar driven sounds. I just can't help but feel that, not only does Kev play these sounds really well, but there's so many unreleased demos out there that are so pure and beautiful. That being said, I think Currents is a really good album. I would love a guitar driven crossed with the same production as Currents Oh, and can someone tell me... If Kevin was to take his production skills to another level, how would he do this? Genuinely curious.
I don't think anyone has any idea what Kevin's next album will be like. Currents was so different than his previous work, it's difficult to tell if he'll continue in the same direction as Currents or do something completely new.
Like a lost Pink Floyd bootleg from 1969/70... If they only would do trippy jams on organ-chords like Floyd (Astronomy Domine live from Ummagumma) . . .
i didnt start dancing or bopping to it at first, but i believe ill have to let this song marinate in my head. then ill get it. similar ro my experience with listening to led zeppelin for the first time
I dont think it sucked, it was over hyped. It was more pop than rock. But overall it was a decent album definitly not amazing like Interspeaker. I hope their next album has more of that physcadelic rock feel that their first two albums have.
I like Innerspeaker more than Currents and Lonerism because it has more have that acid rock type of sound. Lonerism and Currents is more pop rock. That is just my opinion.
For anyone wondering the mindmelt part around a minute in is just an A barre chord to G barre chord and all the inflections are hammer ons on the G barre chord
this is like his sound but not, cant even tell what period this is. best guess would be sundown syndrome era (2008?-2009). its weird becuase you can still tell its tame impala but its really unique, some parts of the 2nd half you would definitely mistake for a different artist. i would anyway but the opening is just what you expect from tame impala. echoey psychedelic guitar riffs, the best drums ever recorded to date, catchy bass line, the lot.
For real. At first I thought this was a fan edit, but they really would play Skeleton Tiger like this live. Guess they were in the peak of their jam period here or something 🤷♂️

That Album Sounds So Fresh EVERY Time I Listen To It. The Flow Of The Album And The Cover Art Are Just Perfect. Finally From Lonerism "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards", "Mind Mischief" And "Why Won't They Talk To Me". I Apologize For The Long Post.
