Ngā Tamatoa member Tame Iti led an awe-inspiring hīkoi of white banners from Tou Rangatira, near Te Tii Waitangi Marae this morning to the Treaty Grounds. Our reporter Harata Brown was there.
@@milkypeanit And at some stage in the future kids ask their dad 'what do you do dad' , 'oh I'm a maori activist my son'. Not a career path or noted on a CV, however for some in the right places it sure brings in the bucks.
Shame on Maori for the disruption of Governmental speakers. This ground is shared among all New Zealanders. It not a marae!! Who is the controlling agency for this event. They should be brought to task!!
Very disturbing... looked like the Ku Klux Klan, but in reverse (against Pakeha), the flags looked like hoods - but it is Tama Iti - so anything goes I guess But then I thought surely not, they wouldn't use cultural appropriation so blatantly and offensively! Maybe not - Just using the European way of the 'white flag' to signalling surrender Really strange & seems totally non-Maori display
