I saw a performance of this from 2020, and I don't know how she did it, but her voice has gotten higher!!! Was hitting so many falsettos 25+ years later. One word: Talent. 🔥🔥
Blame her lack of promotion on her label because she probably didn't want to knock boots with a label executive. The music business is a vicious and dirty business.
A singer in Whitney‘s tradition! No visual or audio fuckery. No dancers needed, no gimmick and nudity. Pure talent and a voice unlike any other. I pity millenials for not seeing, supporting and acknowledging true artists. Gen Z is even worst. Tragic times for music and especially R&B!
All #FACTS! Great and tasteful R&B music for females has gone completely "ghost." There are no singers like Tamia, Deborah Cox, Aaliyah, etc. "The Industry" has made sure of that. What has been glamorized is raunchy, over sexualized and tasteless images of black women. #sotragic Young ppl today have been "hoodwinked and bamboozled!" OAN....this is over 12 years ago and she looks just as classy and sophisticated today!!!!!
@@nataliemartin8288 Tamia is undoubtedly one of the most underrated vocalists of all time. Stunningly beautiful and talented, and deserved to have had the same recognition as Whitney et al, but her diagnosis of having multiple sclerosis knocked her and her career out of the running. This performance was actually 23 years ago in 2000 (the video was posted 12-13 years ago)… However, and I do agree with most of what you say (and I’m a HUGE fan so don’t beat me up for saying this) she really doesn’t look classy and sophisticated at all, all these years later. She still has the pipes, but her onstage persona looks slightly trashy and tasteless…and over sexualised. She can do better and needs to learn that larger ladies CAN still look gorgeous without trying to look like an 18 year old when she’s actually 48.
@@user-lo9fo1xq8q I saw some recent footage of her concerts in SF and it disappointed me to see how she’s looking. Nothing whatsoever to do with her weight gain from ms, but what she was wearing. She’s beautiful but looks horrible in her stage attire
This woman is so fucking gorgeous, strong, and has the strongest, sweetest voice. And all of that confidence....she KNOWS she's bad. She should have been as popular as Mariah and Whitney in my opinion.
Tamia is so under-rated. I remember when You put a move on my heart came out. I had to find out who she was. Her voice was so clear and special and have been a fan of hers ever since. Sister can SAANGG!!!
That woman's voice is the eight wonder of the world! She hit every nuance, high note, run and riff precisely as she did on the track and she slayed it!!!! PERFECTION 💗 🥰
Omg .. nearly identical to the recorded version. This song brings back so many memories. I remember they used to play the dance version of this in the club,& *everybody* hit the floor then!
This perfomance is so beautiful and amazing the way the crowd erupts in applause when she hits the high notes is everything imagine being there live to witness such great talent I am just in awe
When u listen to singers from this era, no matter the voice type, they all have strong, well supported tones and can sing proficiently throughout all 3 registers. No shouting. No screaming. No squeaky tones. No nasal singing. Strong supported, diaphragm singing with great breath control
Nobody !!! Sounds just like the record dvd 📀 record showing my age I live tamia she can sang and still sounds like she’s in the studio her voice is so so silky I love ❤️ her voice and she beautiful too her voice is so beautiful wonderful she’s my favorite 🎤 singer who can reach those 🎶 musical notes🎶🎵🎶🎤🎶🎵
The best performance of this song was on the Montell Williams show years ago. She sang it acapella. It was ... I can't even find the words to describe that performance... Till this very day I still can't find it on any social platform.
Tamia was excellent. Love this song. Love her bringing her husband grant Detroit basketball hero. I always loved tamia voice. great choice and audience loved her and my girlfriend and I also!
There are many amazing singers but i always describe as Tamia the woman you want you to sing you a song just as you about to fall asleep and dose off with a smile of peace and contentment as you dose off
